Hi, I live in Orlando. It is beginning to get back to normal. Power has been restored to many businesses. There are some areas that they say will not have power for another week. There was a lot of tree damage. I drove to Universal today and was amazed at the size of the trees that were toppled. The smaller ones have a strange bend to them. I hope they come back. The commute for people returning to work this morning was not good. Many traffic lights are still out. There have been some reports of tempers flaring. People without power are hot and frustrated. We live in Orange county. They had cancelled school for Orange country for today and tomorrow. They have extended the cancellation until a week from tomorrow. Many business have run out of items. It is impossible to get a generator or a chainsaw. Ice is in high demand. Many of the gas stations are without power so no gas can be pumped. This has caused long lines at those stations with power and now many of those are running low on gas. I live in an area which had very little damage. Seeing these things is very sad and the situation in Orlando is nothing compared to the poor folks on the coast where Charley made landfall.
