How is 'Ohana lately?

On my never ending ADR planning, I realized that we might want to eat at 'Ohana for dinner. However, I've heard that the dinner menu changed recently, and I'm just wondering how it is. I looked over the menu and we wouldn't eat the shrimp or sausage. Is there enough other food for our family to be fine? Is it a really good meal, or just a so-so one for most people?

We had never eaten there before and don't typically care for buffet type food and we Loved it. My DS5 was able to order chix fingers since he does not eat any of that sort of food. We really liked the steak and they will bring you as much of whatever meat you really like. The dessert alone is worth eating there for. My favorite dessert all week and we ate at many nice Restaurants. They even brought my DD2 her own ice cream dessert and didn't charge us. The atmoshere is great and a lot of fun for the kids. We got our request to sit by the window so we got to watch the Magic Kingdom Fireworks from our table. Although Kona Cafe and Le Cellier food was better and tied for 1st place this was a 2nd place for sure.

We loved it and will be returning there again this coming Feb.! I thought there was a great variety of foods. Actually, the only things that I did not like were the sausage and the bread pudding desert. But, there was more than enough of other delicious things to fill us up! IMO I liked the salad, shrimp, and the beef the best! :thumbsup2

Do they still have the great desserts? Something was very good last time: banana something/ bread pudding?

They do have the bread pudding with banana's foster sauce. I unfortunately did not like it, but many others do.

We did Stitch's Breakfast here - we've had the old menu (loved it) and the new menu (not so much for us) so we thought we'd try something different - and dd LOVES Stitch -

Our new favorite breakfast!! The pineapple coffee cake - OMG!! The fresh fruit - pineapple!! YUM!!

We had dinner at Ohana during our recent trip last month. It was our first time there and I must say we were pleasantly surprised. We love "family style" meals because you can request seconds (and thirds!) of your favorites. My husband loved the shrimp, the beef, the peanut dipping sauce (for the fried wontons). I really enjoyed the chicken wings and the scalloped potatoes. The salad dressing was good too. The bread pudding a la mode w/banana's foster sauce is delicious!! Like the previous poster said there is a lot of other stuff to fill you up if you don't prefer one or two of the other items. We added Ohana to our list of "will return" restaurants! :thumbsup2

Do not let them rush you through your meal. We were there a week ago and we were served like a whirlwind gone awry! We hardly had time to touch the chips, shrimp and salad before the potatoes were there then the meat was right on top of it. They thankfully did give us a minute or two before dessert! The kids really enjoyed the games and stuff. The food was ok, like everyone has said the potatoes and the dessert were especially good.

They give you plenty. We went last year(the menu is the same as it was then as far as I know...the big change happened a year ago) and the only meat on skewers I was really thrilled about was the beef. The pork was good, but a bit dry. With that said, we have an ADR for another dinner there two weeks from tonight. If all I ate were the beef skewers, the scalloped potatoes and the banana bread pudding I'd still be in heaven. We loved Ohana and everyone filled up easily, even if they didn't like everything. The bread pudding is my favorite dessert in all of the World!

This is one of our must do's. We love Ohana. The food has always been good and there is plenty of it. They will bring you more of whatever you want. And the dessert is to die for. Its been my all time fave.

Definitely do 'Ohana! We loved it with the new menu, though we were a little trepidacious. Actually, we liked the new menu even better than the old! I didn't care for the sausage, but there are so many delicious things to choose from, it didn't matter. You'll do fine without sausage and shrimp. Try ALL the sauces, they are so yummy!

We love Ohanas too. If they try to bring you the meat too quickly just tell the waiter you aren't ready yet because you are still eating your appetizers. This worked well for us and we weren't as rushed.

We loved ohanas! The bananas foster bread pudding is awesome. Even my very picky dd loved it. The place is alot of fun and great dinner. We have adr in December. Have a great time.

Yum! I'm getting hungry just thinking about it! We'll definitely be eating at Ohana's on our trip - DS4 should love it (both the food, and the atmosphere!).

You have a pet called Peeve? Strange, but probably nothing to apologise for!

:rotfl2:

Sorry, couldn't resist. Thanks for correcting me though - if I said "Ohana's" out loud to DW, she'd just have laughed at me...

We love it too! We skipped it for awhile because we heard a lot of complaints about the new menu but we finally went back. Thank goodness!! I thought it was still fantastic. The food is delicious and there is SO much of it! Definitely don't eat too much during the day!
