I may not be able to miss any school this semester, so I was thinking of doing the actual "spring break" time for disney...it would be march 20-25th. I was thinking of the 18th?

how are the crowds, the weather and how about resort AP discounts?
thanks

Most of it depends when Easter falls. Most grade schools are out the week before or after Easter and Easter is in April next year. So, March would be better than Easter spring break. Crowds are moderate, we're talking 30 - 50 minutes for Splash on average. Not too bad. I was there early March this year.

AP discounts this year have been minimal. I think I got about $15 off a night for a value.

The weather was funky. When we got there it was cold and raining. The next day it was sunny, but jeans weather, and it progressively got warmer from there. By the time we left, it was about 84 and gorgeous.

Hope that helps!

This past year was our first (and last) time going during spring break. Our spring break started right after Easter. We only spent the early mornings in the park and then left because the crowds became too large. The previous two years we went to WDW starting Memorial weekend and it was fine. We've also gone in Sept and eary Dec. This was not a disaster for us because we have been plenty of times........but for someone who has not been alot of times..........this could give you a really bad feeling!

Our family has gone to WDW for the past two years during our spring break which is early March. The timing has been great for us ... for several reasons... The crowds have been fine to deal with. We got fastpasses for many rides, but always got on without any wait then when we went back. Many rides we didn't even needs fastpasses. But again, it was early March. The weather is great if you like it to be cool. It makes walking the parks nice. At nights we needed light jackets ... and sometimes during the days we were okay with shorts and shortsleeves ... but sometimes kept those jackets on. However, since we have a desire to utilize the pools and waterparks more, this next time we're going when it's hotter!! It got chillly in the pools this past March and that wasn't so much fun! You also have to pack more clothes when you go in March, so be prepared! I took long pants, cropped pants, and shorts!!
Have a great time!

We go around this time ( MARCH ) every year..we try to go AFTER Feb vacation and before spring break so usually very early march..WELL< This year we wnet a little later and came home the Day BEFORE EASTER & went during Spring break>>OMG the BIGGEST MISTAKE..it was soo Freakin* CROWDED>we mentioned to one of the Cast members and he said, yes this is the busiest week of the year..ARGHHHH NEVER AGAIN!! BUT we also had 4 A and 2 kids..BUT it was CRAZY~
We have NOW just booked( tonight) a 4 day stay for the END of jan at Port orleans fench Quarter and hopefully that will be better~~

GOOD LUCK*

We were there during that time frame this year, actually the 17th through 22nd. The closer we got to Easter the more crowded it became, but it was definitely doable. We took advantage of EMH, especially at MK in the mornings, and used fastpass.

Good News: This year Easter is in April, so March should be much better crowdwise. The weather is PERFECT that time of year! We got an AP rate of $199 for the Contemporary Garden Wing (Standard View is even cheaper). You might want to book the AP Best Rate 6 months in advance and you will get your rate reduced.

We are going 3/27-4/3. I'm thinking of purchasing AP to lower rate. Am I able to book AP rate yet? If so, does anyone know what rate would be at CR standard wing?

ok thanks for all your info. I think this is one of the only months I have not done disney! but I do not want to miss any classes, whIch I am set to go Sept 29th. (changed my major which changed my classes after trip was made) I do not want to miss 4 microbiology classes, that would be bad! so I guess It will have to be March!!

thanks all

Just an FYI. We were considering a trip in the latter part of March, but I was told a while ago in a post on the Theme Park Attractions board that next year the last week in March may be as busy as Easter. Apparently a lot of public schools are separating their Spring Breaks from Easter and just making them the end of March. This is what our school district has done.
