How is late EMH at Epcot?

Just wondering if that's a good time to get on things like Soarin', Test Track etc. Is it still crowded or not? I just imagine a lot of people with little kids would be home snoozing! :cat:

its open till 12 and the lines for soarin and last week was 30 mins and test track was about 15. I think the morning EMH is a better bet or even the day after the evening emh to do these rides as no one is in the parks at those times but once people are up they stay till the park closes - little ones or not.

When we went in late August, Epcot EMH was a NIGHTMARE! Line for Soarin' was over 2 hours, TT and MS also unbearable. The only line that was not absurdly long was for El Rio de Tiempo in the Mexico pavilion. We rode that and left. We visited Epcot 4 times that week, and during the day, the longest lines were never more than 30 minutes (if that), but during evening EMH, ugh!
We decided to stick to mornings after that.

As a frequent visitor to the "world". This is my humble opinion based on many experiences. By all accounts, the EMH program is a hit and miss type of thing. Having said that, I've never been disappointed with my experience in Magic Kingdom because so many rides and attractions are open and available. Unfortunately, the same can't be said for the other three parks so much. At Epcot, it seems like almost everyone either heads to Soarin or Test Track, so the lines are usually very long. The longest I've seen was 180 minutes...the entire EMH. At MGM, you have everyone who wants to hit RnR and ToT, so those lines tend to be really long as well. At Animal Kingdom, it's Expedition Everest and Dinosaur. Now, having put all of that into perspective, my opinion is this......Don't go to Epcot, AK, and MGM expecting short lines for the "thrill" rides. Get a FP for those during the day. Go and enjoy some of the more "overlooked" attractions. Take time to sit and enjoy the atmosphere in the parks at night....MGM has great music playing all evening.

There's my 2 cents worth

The lines for Soarin and Test Track changed several times. We walked right onto Soarin. Test Track was nearly a walk on...but then a mishap occurred (some technical difficulty) and it bumped the wait time to about 30 minutes for awhile. So the wait times can definitely vary.

I definitely agree with dizneetravelagent...EMH is a hit or miss thing. One person might experience a mad house one week only to find that a person experienced a near empty park the following week. We had no problems getting on anything at all the evening EMHs last week...but last year was a different story.

That's not strictly true, is it?

I thought the rule was it's open 3 hours after park closing... FW closes as early as 7pm some days :(

I think you are right. I would say it closes at 10 pm that night.
I agree with one of the earlier posts. If you do the late EMH, then the best thing to do would be skip the big ticket rides and do some of the smaller rides or just enjoy the view. I think that is a great game plan. You can do those other rides during the day easier with FP.

It has been our experience that Epcot is mobbed! We tried twice and found it just was not worth it for us, MGM was the same way.

Epcot, including FW is open till 12 on EMH nights and a couple of WS pavilions are open. It is nice to stroll WS on EMH evenings, it is usually not too crowded. As someone mentioned, go for the atmosphere, not the rides.

Our plan is to skip all evening EMH except MK on our upcomming trip.
