I've had to reschedule this year's annual trip to the second week of May 2005 and since it's been several years since I've been there during that month, I have a few questions.

Is it crowded? When do Florida schools get out? How is the weather? Is it hot? Does it rain alot during that time of year? Are the parks open late? Is this considered regular or value season?

i went may 13-19 ....so i just got back not too long ago....it wasnt too hot..it wasnt unbearable at all...it rained a couple of times, but it was quick and it was over..
we hit pretty much no crowds and didnt wait for anything for over 20 minutes, but mostly under a 5 minute wait..i absolutely loved going at this time, and would go back again..i THINK it is considered regular season, but im not positive

Blueeyes101817,

Thanks for your input!!

We were there May 8-19. It was MUCH less crowded at the beginning of our stay than at the end, though there weren't unbearably long waits ever. The weather was absolutely beautiful.

The Flower and Garden Festival is going on at Epcot, and that is gorgeous. I love May, but unfortunately, this was the last year that I think I can pull my kids out of school.

It is regular season.

We were at the parks from May 13-22 and the crowds were not bad at all, and it wasnt unbearbly hot. We then went on a cruise for a week and then returned to the parks for the memorial day weekend... Big mistake, everything was super crowded and it was REALLY HOT!!! Hope that helps.

We've gone the first or second week of May the past 5 years. This year we went May 2 to 8, the weather was pretty good - low/mid 80's, one day of rain. Other years we've had days in the low to mid 90's, but little rain. Crowds usually aren't bad, but this year was the most crowded of the 5 years.

Heh,we just got back a week ago :( The crowds at Magic Kingdom were kinda bad,and at MGM near Star Tours(Star Wars Weekenders )It was hot,but it was cooler than Tennessee(Where I hail from)

Thanks everyone for your input.

I was thinking about going the first week of May (Friday night to the following Sunday), but that Friday is the last weekend of April and I'm afraid it will still be packed from school vacations.

I was thinking the later in the month, the more crowded it would be, so that's why I thought the second week would not be that bad.

Thanks again!!

Went for my first trip in May and I think it's going to be an annual trip for those dates. At first I was nervous booking a trip during Mother's Day weekend, but it was great!!! I don't usually go during regular season, but I didn't notice much of an increase in crowds. And the weather - wonderful!!! Only a EXTREMELY SLIGHT shower on Monday.

Hope this helps!!! :teeth:
