I really want to order my kids the special desserts from here, ie the slipper dessert. Citricos and Narcoosees seem too nice to take an 11,8, and 5 year old to. Would a dinner here work ?

I posted a question like this a while ago and from the responses I got was that it was nothing special, but we are still going. I took my DD to Narcoossee's for her 10th birthday and I had ordered her the slipper desert and she loved it. Even though the restaurant did seem for adults there were many children there and it was very accomodating for us. popcorn::

We really like it. The food has always been very good (especially the fish of the day and the french onion soup) and it's a pretty atmosphere with good service. I also like the mini desserts - just enough after a big meal...:goodvibes

The GF Cafe isn't knock-you-on-your-hiney FAAANNtastic, but it's definitely *good.* We've eaten there twice, once for lunch and once for dinner, and we enjoyed it both times. It's a pretty restaurant, like an above poster said, and the mini-desserts are a lot of fun. :) I don't know anything about the slipper dessert, so I can't address that aspect of the post, but I don't think you'd regret dinner here. :hippie:

We love the GF Cafe for lunch. It is so pretty with the sun shining in all the windows. We have lunch there virtually every single trip including just two weeks ago.

I've always considered the Cafe a bit of a hidden gem. Every dish we've ever ordered has blown us away but it never gets the rave reviews others have gotten.

The atmosphere isn't over the top or out to impress, in fact, it rather feels like the old ladies who lunch atmosphere that my great Aunt would have loved.

we love it. Dh still raves about the floridian burger. I had the open faced sandwich with boursin cheese,,,DROOL!!!

My daughter loves that sandwich and we never miss the Cafe when she is with us. It's been a favorite of hers for many years now even as the name of the sandwich has changed at least three times. The first time she had it I think she was 9 or 10 and still ate like a bird and usually chicken strips. She ate that entire sandwich!

I agree it is excellent.:thumbsup2
