I have never been to Disney in early May and I was wondering crowd wise how was it? On t-o-u-r-i-n-g-p-l-a-n-s-c-o-m May 4th - May 10th are all rated as a 6.. that dosent seem bad at all.. It would be wonderful to be in Disney during the Flower & Garden Festival (since I have never seen it).. I want a nice vac, but not to crowded... I know at this time I would be paying Regular Season prices (which sucks) but I'm considering a 7 night Vac in early May instead of my 5 night VALUE season vac in January.. Any discounts during this time? Is it really hot in early May? I dont know anything about going in May! lol

OPINIONS PLEASE.. I NEED YOUR HELP.. IM DRIVING MYSELF CRAZY.. LOL :furious:

SPLASH MOUNTAIN MY FAVORITE RIDE IS CLOSED IN JANUARY.. ITS HORRIBLE! :rotfl:

Early May is not very crowded at all. The weather can vary a bit...you could have hot days (not very humid though) or mild days with cool mornings and evenings.

We went in early May this year and it was great! I think the longest we waited was like 20 minutes and that was only for Splash Mountain. The weather was perfect the whole time we were there. A little cool in the morning and warm in the afternoon. I am from Texas though so the heat didn't feel bad to me! =)

Of my 9 times to WDW 6 of them were in the first 2 weeks of May. The crowds have always been easy to deal with except at what ever park opens for early entry and the MK on weekends. If Early entry is on Saturday it is not a great day to visit the MK. Sometimes the SpectroMagic parade only shows a couple times a week and the fireworks only on weekends adding to the Saturday crowd. Everything else is a breeze.
The weather has been everything but cool and cold. Two of the trips it was in the mid 90's every day. A couple of the trips it was from the mid 70's to the low 80's. And the other trips varied from the mid 70's to the mid 90's. A couple trips there was no rain at all and the other trips there were one or two downpours during the 8-10 days I was there. It is definately not a rainy time to go.
But you do get to visit with the love bugs though they have never been really extreme on any of my trips.

We always plan our big 2 weeks at WDW for Early May. Mostly because of my wife's work schedule, but, also because it is so slow at WDW. We rarely have to wait in line for anything (thanks to proper Fastpass usage and forward planning) and usually get great seats for parades and fireworks. The weather is pleasant without being too hot or cool. The only problem that I have is that Star Wars weekend sometimes shifts to the latter part of May.

Take Sunblock!

Yes, we try to go to the parks the day after EMH. They are always much quieter after. We usually don't plan rides. We go to our favorites first in each park. Usually, our path through the parks is guided by where we are going to eat. For example, usually we start our day in the World Showcase at Mexico, eating lunch at St Angel's Inn and walk around to Canada for supper at Le Cellier.

Drop me a note if I can be of further service.

We are also going in late April/early May. We have visited twice in March and the weather was nice and this past August, when it was very hot. Hopefully, April/May will be just the right combination! :sunny:
