5 days to go!! I havent heard too much about EA recently. What kind of cars, anyone having problems with drop offs? I did see earlier thread about website but nothing recently. If anyone is back recently, maybe you could share your experiences. TIA

When I arrived last Thursday morning, there was one truck, one full-size and a Corolla on EA. I took the full-size. Return lanes on Saturday afternoon (it was pouring rain) were crowded and one of my discounts was not on my receipt so I had to go to the counter to get it corrected (took the agent about 15 minutes to figure it out). Charge for gas was about $1.50 per gallon but they charged me for 8 gallons and that seemed like a lot for having driven less than 100 miles.

I am going back in December and unless National has a better rate than anyone else I don't think I will go with EA, it just didn't seem that much more convenient.

When we used Emerald Aisle on 8/18 there were a couple of Grand Ams and a bunch of Mitsubishi Eclipses, including one convertible Eclipse. Since there were 4 of us with a weeks worth of luggage I didn't like either option.

I looked at my receipt and it said something like "full size or your choice from the Emerald Aisle" so I went to the full size aisle (only 2 or 3 cars here) and took a Lumina.

This was at about 3:30 on a Saturday afternoon, the choices were very limited unless you wanted an Eclipse.

Except for the limited selection, the rest of the experience was fantastic. There was a long line at the National counter and we walked right by it out to the lot. The only hangup was that I had just renewed my drivers license so the person at the gate took some time looking over my paperwork I brought with stating that I had applied for the new license. Make sure you bring this paperwork with if you are waiting for a new license. I almost left it at home thinking the paper work was just more to carry in my wallet.

For my rate I used the Sam's Club travel discount and the Disney web site coupon. At the gate she asked for the coupon printed but not for my Sam's Club card.

Check in was fast and efficient and our total even ended up being less than the estimate I had on the receipt.

Good experience but limited cars in the Emerald Aisle. If you absolutely have to have a full size make sure that you reserve a full size instead of an intermediate, otherwise there may be nothing big enough if you get there on a weekend like we did.

We rented a car on 8/17 at about 8:30 pm....We rented a chevy malibu, no SUV's, Vans available.

After choosing a car we simply drove to the window and gave the attendant a copy of my reservation, my coupon and my emerald club member card.

When we returned the car, an attendant checked our car in with a handheld computer and printed a copy of our charges....I was charged exactly what I expected.

It was a positive experience, very quick, although the car selection was not exciting.

When we arrived on Monday 8/20, (11am) we and about 5 other people were looking for cars on the empty aisle. We located an attendant who told us that we had a choice of full size, SUV or convertible. The kids wanted the convertible, so we grabbed a red Sebring (we didn't have a lot of luggage this trip as it wasn't a total trip to WDW and we all weren't going to ride in it the whole time).
Our rental was p/u @ MCO and drop off on 8/27 in Albany NY (about 1,600 miles later). My base rate was $325.99 - (disney club & Internet offer) $102.46 = $282.74. Both the attendants at check-out and drop-off made a comment about the great 20% discount I got. :D Both the check-out and return went very smoothly.
We were please with our choice. We won't be able to choose a convertible for our Dec. trip because I know just how tight we were this time with very little luggage!

We arrived early afternoon on 8/23. The selection was fairly small. We picked the biggest car we could find, which was a Buick LeSabre. It was fine for the 4 of us - big enough trunk and plenty of leg room. Was very quick getting out, used DC coupon and showed cards. It was very busy at drop-off, but the attendants worked very quickly so we didn't wait more than 5 minutes. I was very happy to get my receipt with the discounted total that I had expected. No hassles at all.:)

Went Aug. 8 and full size aisle was filled (@ 9:00 AM), but only a few in EA. Got a LaSabre and it was a wonderful car. Stopped at the window; the rep. was friendly and pleasant. Did ask for the internet coupon, which I had. Filled up before returning, so no problem. Drop off was fast and took less than 5 minutes. A perfect transaction! Looks like they are working extra hard to me, because there was a few problems earlier in the summer, so all looks well.

We arrived Wednesday, Aug 22 around 12pm. Had reservations for a full size or choice on Emerald Aisle. Both the Emerald Aisle and the Full Size Aisle were empty. Attendant told us we had our choice of the Buick LaSabre or a minivan. We chose a Toyota Sienna minivan (there were tons of various model minivans).

We returned the minivan on Sunday, Sept 2 and checkout took less time than it did to unload the luggage and stuff from the van!

The charges were exactly the same as our original quote from our email confirmation. We were charged $135 weekly, used the Disney coupon for 1 day free and the 20% Disneyclub discount. Total for 12 days including taxes and refilling gas (@ $1.39 per gallon) was $258 which comes to $21.50 a day for a minivan - not bad.

We were extremely pleased how smoothly check-in and check-out went.
