How is dinner at the Yachtsman solo?

Our big extended family (a group of 19) is visiting in April. As usual, we have a dinner reservation for La Hacienda, and I simply don't share everyone else's affection for the food there. I've had it with their bland, unimaginative, overpriced "Mexican" food - and the perk of watching Illuminations from the dinner table just isn't enough for me to suffer through it yet again.

I've always wanted to try Yachtsman, but no one else is interested. Normally, I have no problem dining solo at the bar in upscale restaurants, but my understanding is that there is no bar at Yachtsman.

I did make an ADR for one, but I'm not sure I'll be comfortable sitting at a table alone in the dining room. Will I be the only person in the entire restaurant dining solo? Will they stick me at a horrible table in front of the men's room?

Has anyone dined alone in there?

I have, and had a very nice experience. This was last April. I was seated at a nice 2-top by a half-wall/divider, so not out in the middle of everything, and not by the men's room. ;) I had a nice lady server who took good care of me. Yachtsman seems to draw a lot of adults including business/convention people; I don't recall noticing other solos, but I'm sure they're not uncommon.

I really enjoyed the filet mignon. My server suggested getting the sauce on the side, which I'm glad I did. I dipped a bit, but the steak really didn't need it. I would be happy to return, and if it's something you've wanted to try, you should definitely go!

Sounds great. Thanks Karly. I thought about the conventioneer thing, which would result in a lot of solo diners. That's why I'm surprised they have no bar.

I ate there as a solo in January. Had a fantastic waiter. The filet was wonderful. I too was at a two top and did not feel out of place at all.

I haven't dined there solo, but I would. The place is amazing and the atmosphere would not exclude one from eating alone.
