I'm taking my Dh to the Coral Reef for his birthday dinner and would like to know if this is a good choice. He LOVES seafood and trying new things. I haven't heard any reviews of this rest. and would like to know if it's a good choice or if there is a better one? Any help would be app.!

I LOVE this restaurant. I love it so much that one of the servers there has become a good friend. It is fancy, elegant, romantic and yes--unfortunately--expensive. In my opinion it is worth it however.

There is seafood on the menu, but there are other choices as well. What you will not find are your typical seafood choices....and almost NO fried seafood. There is one fried perch fillet starter and that is it. Other seafood choices include a mahi fillet that is wonderful, a shrimp and vegetable dish in a garlic and wine sauce that disappeared incredibly quickly off my plate, and grilled piranha. Now, I couldn't even imagine eating this last one, but Tony my server raves about it and he tends to be a picky eater himeself.

For starters there is the usual shrimp cocktail and lobster bisque. There are also the above mentioned fried perch and a scallop dish. Of course you can always order a salad as well.

Other entree choices include a steak, a seafood pasta dish and a vegetarian option.

Desserts are superb here and I highly recommend the Chocolate Wave, their signature dessert.

When you go.....if you are going Tuesday through Saturday.....ask for Tony T. to be your server. He will make sure your visit is a special one and if you do not like what you ahve chosen he will keep bringing you food until you do!

I hope you choose to give this wonderful restaurant a try. It has taken a beating on these boards in the past and it is not for everybody. If you enjoy a unique dining experience and want a special meal in many ways than I think you will have a good time.

Linda,
Thank you so very much for your reply. I'm excited to go now. I know my hubby will love it because he loves to try different things. And I know our DD will love seeing all the fishies! I thank you again.

NIkki,

Like I said in my post, be sure to ask for Tony. He will really make your meal special. If you let me know what day and time your PS is for, I'll even call him and let him know.......

Linda

That is so sweet of you we have PS's for Fri. the 8th of Nov. at 5:50pm. I just can't believe you'd do that for us. Thank you so much. This has just made my day! Thank you again. It's nice to know people WILL do something nice for someone else for no reason at all.
Nicki
PS This is a birthday celebration for my hubby!

I LOVE this restaurant too, and the service and food are outstanding.

Enjoy! :)

Nikki,

One thing I forgot.....your last name is crucial! Tony can't look it up without your last name. You can PM me with that information.

Linda

Linda, am I being too forward to ask you to do the same for us?:(
We are taking my grandmother to WDW for her 85th birthday and all we ask for is good service. She isn't the most paient person in the world and if we could get a great server she would be in her glory. Let me know what you think. and don't feel bad about saying no. Thank you, Sam.
