I am asking this because I will be there soon and I am wondering if it is worth spending two nights there. I figure I would ask to see if people find going here at night enjoyable and worth spending maybe two nights here.

June 1 was crowded. We had Fastpasses but the the stand by was 3 hours or so. The lights are very cool though. It's definitely worth going for the experience. However, for rides I suggest the early morning. 7 am at least.

We were there on 6/2 and it rained that evening. The park was awesome! We went on the safari around 8pm and tons of animals were out and close by. We walked on lots of rides and it cleared up before too long. We saw ROL and walked around Pandora at midnight.

AK is one of my favs but we only had 4 days and one day/night was enough to do everything we wanted.

did the FP line take the full hour allotted for the FP? About how long did you wait with your FP?
Thanks! :stitch2:

I heard that between 11pm and 1am (EMH) the only rides open are the Pandora ones? I hope that's not true. Heading there tomorrow evening. Anyone have recent feedback on this?

Yes, that is the case. We were there Sunday night.

We are spending 2 nights there in August, but that's because we can only make tiered FPs for one Pandora ride per day, so we are going back twice to enjoy both of them without standby. I guess it just depends on how long you'll stay at the park. We enjoy taking our time and taking in all the sights so we usually only go on 3 to 4 attractions anyway!

At night there's Pandora with all of its bioluminescence, nighttime Safari, the newer dance entertainment (name?), the projections on the tree, ROL, EE at night.

You also have to consider when sundown is, on our trip it's at approximately 8:10pm, and the park closes at 9:30pm, so we actually only have about an hour and a half of "nighttime".

I love AK at night but pandora has definitely increased the crowds at AK at night so I"m mixed on if I still like it...

Also pay attention to what isn't opened.. most of AK isnt' opened at night but EE and kali I think are better rides at night.

Kali at night sounds pretty amazing. Will have to try that!

is dinosaur and primal whirl open at night?

I would think they are open until park closing?

Now for extra magic hours at night, I think it's only Pandora if it's offered.

Animal Kingdom is magical at night. I love it. And this was before all the new nighttime offerings.
Do you think it is worth spending two nights there in a 9 day trip? I was thinking of doing one morning/afternoon but then doing two evenings? BTW I love AK a lot.

If you can, I totally would! We have two full days and nights planned for our next trip. :) We are also there 9 nights!

We are making our FP+ reservations tomorrow morning and the final decision was: 1 morning at AK (because of August heat. We wilt easily) and 3 nights at AK. We want to experience each of the Pandora rides once (and one of them twice) as well as ROL (with a Tusker House breakfast dining package) Safari at night, Dinosaur, EE (for me only, no one else will do it!), a Yak and Yeti dinner, some Satu'li, some Pongu Pongu, checking out all the minutia of Pandora, in the day and the night, one daytime and one nighttime Kali (thanks to @Accident for the tip) as well as checking out the Tree projections - so yes!! We decided it was worth 3 nights!

I would like to ask but are you planning on leaving out any park in your time here? Me personally, not sure if it is worth spending much time at DHS. Since food and wine is at Epcot I would think spending 3 to 4 days there would be nice ideal.

I adore AK and for my upcoming five night trip, I have one night, one full day and night, and one morning at AK. I don't think two nights at AK on a nine night trip is too much. For me, it would not be enough.

I was planning on skipping HS entirely (we have seen and done most everything there multiple times), but may head over for a couple of hours on my Epcot day to see The Music of Pixar.

We usually try to concentrate on 2 to 3 parks for our trips. We used to try to "do it all" and felt like, in trying to do everything, we missed a lot of the special touches that make the parks unique. No time to smell the roses if you will! I would rather spend 2 easy going nights in one park than try to cram everything in in one day. This upcoming trip we are concentrating on AK and MK. Our next trip will be MK, EP (for Food & Wine which we've never done) and maybe DHS, if only to eat at 50s.

We usually skip DHS, but that's just because we are Disneyland People, and most of the major rides we enjoy (TSMM, ST, ToT now the Guardians of the Galaxy ride, Fantasmic!) are all at DL as well. We try to do mostly the "unique to WDW" rides which is why I think we like AK so much. The whole premise of DHS seems a bit dated as well, and Disney did Old California/Hollywood way better at California Adventure IMO so we are a bit spoiled when it comes to that kind of theming! And, more importantly, the Boss (DW) hates DHS so we pretty much never go!

I am going first week of august for 7 park days and plan on spending two nights in AK. One in Pandora and one with Rivers of Light.

I've looked at the wait times every night for the last week just before going to bed (usually around 1130p ET or later), and the shortest wait I've seen for FoP so far was 100 minutes. Pretty sure it was raining pretty significantly that night as well. The average has been around 2 hours. So that leads me to believe that it is still pretty crowded. Hoping the same thing as you though. Potentially going to check it out next Wednesday evening after dinner.
