how inconvenient are the lockers?

So I'm trying to plan out what to bring to universal. Initially I wanted to bring a mini napsack for drinks and snacks but it looks like these arent allowed on certain rides. Only a fanny pack is allowed. Also the other half wants to bring a small purse but looka like its not allowed either. Are the lockers really inconvenient and will they get in the way of trying to get as much done as possible at the park?

I wouldn't say they're terribly inconvenient in general, but the locker room can get very busy at Forbidden Journey. Also, sometimes you can skip the very long locker line if you agree to go as single riders- but you can't have bags with you. They were implementing this today (this only happens during busy season). If you're not going at a traditionally busy time I wouldn't worry about it.

If you are going at a really busy time, they can be a pain in the butt, most times they arent horrible but we have learned to travel very lightly to not deal with it..You are correct,Certain rides do not allow anything but small fannypacks( I have seen people with waist packs the size of a small child that were asked to lock them up).No wristlets, crossbody bags, small purses or backpacks allowed.

The lockers can take up a lot of your time. You are best to just bring a waist pack or wear cargo shorts with pockets that button or zip up. You can get free ice water at any counter service food location, so you don't really need to bring along a drink.

they are only inconvwnient if you forget the locker number. lol. we liked having them available for the rides

In busy times there can be long line ups at each kiosk.

Or if you get stuck behind a HUGE tour group:)
We got stuck behind one in January and it took almost 10 mins just to get to a kiosk to get a locker at MIB since there were 60 of them and they were having issues with the kiosks and trying to shove backpacks the size of a small suv into the lockers...After that experience I decided waistpack or cargo shorts the rest of the trip.I already prepped DH and DD for this summer..We arent bringing anything that we cant put into our shorts or small waistbag

Yea maybe it isnt the greatest idea to bring snacks and drinks. How far is the parking lot from the park? Maybe I can go back to the car after going on all the crazy rides to grab the bag?

You can certainly do that...but I bet you won't.

 There are bigger lockers at the entrance of the park. You rent them for the day but it's still a huge time sucker to access them during the day.

lol yea... maybe i'll have to double think bringing stuff now. Disney isn't a problem since you can bring this stuff on with you...
How about the other Universal park? are there also rides that don't allow you to bring bags?

I try to head to the back of the locker area (note: I haven't yet been to the lockers for FJ and know nothing about them). Most people stick around the front, not realizing there are something like 7 separate banks of lockers at MIB, each with its own kiosk.

At the Studios you can't bring anything on the Mummy ,Rip ride Rocket or Men In Black
At IOA-No bags on Forbidden Journey, Dragon Challenge ,The Hulk

When are you going?

I will be going second week of april. April 7 to IoA and april 8 at US, then IoA again on he 11th

Since that is the week after Easter week, it probably won't be crazy busy. The lockers will probably be fine.
