How important is it to get the Candlelight Processional Package?

We currently have the CPP booked for lunch at Le Cellier and the 5PM show. We are going the beginning of December. There will be 7 of us. I'm trying to decide if it's worth the $250 or 2 TS credits it's going to cost us. We really want to see the show. Should we just wait in line? About how long do you usually have to wait in line? We haven't been during this time of year before. Do we all have to wait in line or can just a couple adults wait for all of us?

We paid 2 TS credits for CdF CP last year and I would not do it again. You can wait in line for a show, and even if you don't get a seat, you can see it from the American pavillion. It was good, but I felt like the credits were a waste.

We've done Candlelight both ways. What I don't like about not doing the package is that you wait in an enormous line and are not guaranteed a seat. It would be a shame for you to stand all that time and then not get in. I don't remember how long the wait is but I know they line up early. I'm also not sure if you would be allowed to have just a couple of you wait for your whole party. Also, if you don't go to the first showing, you will end up hearing the previous show while you wait in line for your show.

We like to grab counter service dinners and get an outside table at the American pavilion. This way we get to hear the show without the hassle of waiting in line. I don't mind missing out on seeing the show as not a lot happens visually anyway.

There is one member of our family that really likes to sit in the theater and watch the show and when they are with us we do the package.

The one time I queued for CP it was over 2.5 hours--and I was one of the last people admitted for seating.

The people at the beginning of the queue were there about 4 hours.

Now I just listen to it from outside. :) :thumbsup2

Out of courtesy to others at least the majority of your party should stand in line. If you need to take turns going to the bathroom etc. others should not have a problem with that. Last year we had the CPP but still lined up more than an hour prior to the show to be able to get choice seats near the front. We spent most of the time chatting with two very nice ladies. They told us right up front that the daughter of one would be joining them after completing some shopping in WS. We had no problem with that.

I was mainly concerned about keeping the 3 year old occupied in line for hours and then quiet for the show too. I still don't know what to do.

we listened to it from the american pavillion as well. you can't hear the talking much at all but the music was ok. the people in line told us there were there for atleast 3 1/2 hours prior. and those who didn't get in for the first show continued to wait for the second show. in my opinion it's not worth waiting in line. again in my opinion lecellier is NOT worth two table service points from your dinning. i think it has gone downhill. i hope you get enough info from people that you make the best decision for your family.

I actually upgraded to the Deluxe Dining Plan when I booked the CP Dinner. It was $120 more per person for the difference between that and the free dining, so paying for the upgrade was like paying $30 a day per person for food, which is one character breakfast. To me it was worth paying the extra money for the extra table services. We are doing CRT for breakfast and that was about $100 alone for the two of us.

My family of 6 went to the CP when my kids were 1, 4, 10 and 12. None of the kids enjoyed it. I didn't enjoy it because I was dealing with cranky kids. My husband and I decided that if we were ever to be at WDW for the holidays again we would grab counter service and listen to the show from outside.

Personally we never attend anything at WDW that you have to keep such young children waiting for so long (we have 3 young kids). Once we had our kids wait for over an hour for fantasmic and in the end it was not worth it. The wait was hard - well the show was good not worth the time. To many other cool things to do.

I would not like it if we waited in line for 2-4 hours and at the last minute the people in front of added more than a person or two to their party. I find that a little rude.

Well we have nover done CP or some other things at WDW we are perfectlly happy with what we do. We know that there is always another vacation when the kids get older and it always gives us something new to do on the next trip.

How early you would need to line up without a pkg depends alot on who is narrating too..The more popular the narrator, the earlier people line up.I have seen people waiting over 3 hrs early for Stephen Curtis Chapman and whoopi goldberg ..I have also seen people wait a long time and NOT get into the theater. They let in all the pkg diners first and then they start taking off standby line. Some shows and narrators most if not all of the standby line makes it in,others I have seen maybe 4 people off the standby line let in..If it is something you really want to see, and would be upset if you don't see it or get in.Keep the pkg.

Ok, we didn't get free dining because we are staying on DVC points. We are hoping to see Steven Curtis Chapman. So I guess now we just need to decide if it's something we really want to see or if we are ok with listening from outside. Thanks for all the input, I really appreciate it from people who have been there.

We do this every year during the week between Christmas and New Year's and have never done a package. We just go and wait in line and really don't wait beyond 30-45 minutes and have always had good seats. We don't have young kids anymore, so I can't comment on that. I would think they would get antsy and to be honest it's not that entertaining (MY OPINION) for little ones. It would be ok if they didn't have to wait but for little ones to wait in line for a long time.....??

Enjoy The Magic!!

He is quite popular and generates long waits.I would stick with a package

We did it our first year, and haven't since. Frankly, I don't think the show is all that great, and I definitely wouldn't do it now that it required 2TS.

I think my in laws and my 7 year old would enjoy it most. He sings in the kids choir at church and loves music. We've taken the older two to several Christian music concerts. I guess the only way we can know, is to go and see for ourselves.

Another question, for those who have seen the show. Is it better at night? Right now we have lunch at Le Celleir and the 5PM show, would it be better to try to get a different time, but it would mean a different restaurant.
