Hi,

A few people have asked me about how I got A&E FP+. I'll post my experience and thoughts, but obviously your mileage may vary.

I've been able to pickup 5 A&E FP+ this week, about 45 days from my trip.

Here's what I do:
After logging into to Disney (I use LastPass), I go to this page:
https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/fastpass-plus/modify/date/2014-10-17/ (substitute whatever day in the URL)

I have some A&E's currently, so I hit "select new time" to see if any availability. If there is, I quickly change an existing single person fastpass to the open A&E one. It's important to have your people single, if won't show if you have multiple people unless there are multiple openings (doubtful). (This is kind of poor logic by the designer because the next option is choose the relevant people...anyways).

If you don't currently have a A&E, then use use "change experience". But it seems to take longer.

I most important thing is to keep a single person's FP+ ready to change. I've lost a couple of FP because I didn't have my group broken as singles. The thing to keep in mind is to stagger your group a bit in time slots so they show up as singles for the FP+ you want to swap with A&E.

Hope this helps....

EDIT: Forgot to say a few things. I check about 3-10 times a day depending how much i'm near a computer. For the first two weeks I saw nothing. Then when I decided to try on 10/15 (my other MK day) I found a lot of openings this week. My other day in MK, 10/17 I still have never seen an opening. So it all may depend on which day is busier. I'm just guessing but I bet at 30 days out its almost a lost cause.

I remember reading that if booking a Disney resort online, payment is due 45 days before arrival (is that right??) -- is this possibly why the 45-day mark was fruitful -- cancellations??

Ooooh, good point. I'll tuck that one away for safe keeping. :thumbsup2

I was just looking up my dates and realized that April fools day is the day I book my fastpasses. No shenanigans Disney. :lmao:

I thought the danger in only changing a single person is that you often cannot attach the rest of your party to this person's "copy FP+". So you end up with a bunch of members of your party with totally different FP+ times?

There's the chance that you end up with different times. The goal is to piece together overlapping times in your group so you all have a single time frame when all the FP+ reservations are valid. I wouldn't use the copy button, it can backfire and change the A&E reservation you have to something else if there isn't another slot available.

I have been trying the same exact process and I have seen nothing for 10/19. I am just trying to move everyone to overlapping times. I think that weekend is going to be really busy with fall breaks. When I was able to book at 60 days, the 19th was the only day with availability. Maybe it helps that 10/15 is during the week and 10/17 is on a Friday? Regardless, I am going to be trying lots in the coming days on the hope that the 45 day policy is true!
