How I chose which resort-It was the sinks!

I love this thread, it's cracking me up!! I'm not laughing AT you, I'm laughing because now I know there are other people out there who notice and take into account small things, like I do. LOL :thumbsup2

Hee hee - its a secret club we nerdy disfreaks belong to!:hippie:

There is also very limited counter space around the CR sinks which was difficult for a family of 3. I can't imagine what it would be like for a family of 4-5. YIKES!

we stored everything on the shelves underneath and had a hanging organizer on the towel rack. The space part didnt bother me as much as the sinks not draining, it got gross at times,

A hanging organizer on the towel rack???!!! My gosh, that's ingenious!
DISer's are amazingly creative! I have been using the hanging shoe organizer in the closet for our toiletries on the last five trips or so and love it, but where were you able to find such a small organizer for the towel rack? What does it look like if you don't mind me asking?

I also prefer the resort sinks with counter space. I was relieved CSR had them. It was a pain at POR to use the pedestal sinks, but if we stay there again (because the grounds are GORGEOUS) I will utilize Seaspray's towel trick. And thanks for putting together the sink links, mikkiwikki. :)

We just got back from CBR and my daughters (ages 20 and 17) couldn't live without the extra storage under the CBR sinks. We love the CBR sinks!!!!

It was an organizer that came with our lugguage. It wasnt huge but it did hold a lot. In CR the towel rack is actually right there at the door when you walk in the bathroom and looked like a ladder. It actually wasnt that convient to the shower itself, we always had to take our towel off the towel rack and lay it on the sink for our shower. But the towel rack was right behind the sinks so we could easily turn around and get what we wanted.

You are bumming me out now! I always wanted to try the POR resorts, but that shabby little shelf space would be all I could focus on now thanks to you guys!:lmao:

Heck, the All Stars gives better countertop!:rotfl:

Now moderate choices are changed to CBR and CSR. It's only me and DH so I could easily push him out of the way to claim my countertop space at CSR.:lmao:

all the resorts are nice, so it's great that you have a way of making that most difficult of decisions - be it sinks or whatever...

I so agree with you. My friend raved about POR so I checked the pictures at allears while deciding which resort for this trip. As soon I as saw the sinks I said no, back to CBR. She thought I was a nut and I didn't care. I love the counter space and I love the cubbies underneath.

Check out the travel organizers at llbean.com -- they have multiple sizes...

We ALWAYS use one when we travel (we travel a lot and simply keep it stocked to go)...
I think we have the medium sized one.

A couple of years ago at Port Orleans, I saw a family using their's (a larger one) as the "pool bag" -- it was perfect for holding all the sunscreen & sunglasses PLUS a couple of paperbacks & the kids puzzle books. Plus they had one in a cool aloha blue fabric -- very easy to spot!

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who is really upset about the sinks at POR. Out of all the Mods I love the theming of POR the most..... but those sinks could be the deal breaker!!!!

:rotfl: Well thats a new way of deciding on a resort :)!

I didn't care for the CR sinks. They didn't drain completely. It's like there is not a deep enough slope for the water to run into the drain and some water puddles across the front and in the front corners. I had to wipe the sink dry most times after use.

We hated the sinks at CR. They looked cool but like you said did not drain well at all!:confused3

We absolutely hated these sinks! Water would splash right out of the sink.:scared1: What a mess! Part of the reason we ended up hating CR and will not return. MK view was great but that was about it.
