Going last week in September and for those of you who have been there during that time of year, I was wondering how hot is it at the parks? Is it really humid hot or just a dry heat? Just trying to prepare myself. Any info welcomed.

We've been the last 5 Septembers and the weather is usually warm to very warm and humid. I do not like hot/humid weather (we live in the mountains and have low humidity and cooler weather) and I find it quite tolerable in Sept. Just remember that some areas, like Animal Kingdom, are hotter than others (I guess because of the dark ashpalt in some areas).

Afternoon showers are common.

The last few years I've gone the 2nd week of September. It IS very hot and humid. Last year I kept notes for my trip report, and recorded that by 10:40am, it was 90derees. BUT the parks are not crowded so that really makes up for it! :thumbsup2

We were there last Sept (23-30) boy it was hot and humid for late Sept. It averaged 89-92 each day. My advice is to avoid AK for the first couple of days. We went on our first full day and the weather kicked our butts. Us northerners need time to adjust to the heat/humidity. AK has very little AC attractions compared to other parks.
Alot of walking, standing and waiting outside for long hours of time. We did Epcot the next day and planned alot of AC events (The land, innovations, TT etc.) The break did us wonders.

It is definately humid. The normal humididy is around 80-100% during the summer. If it rains early enough in the afternoon, the temperatures will drop for a little while but if the sun comes back out everything becomes a sauna.

Last week of September is quite rainy. So therefore, it will be very humid and the heat is usually between 88-94 degrees. Bring ponchos.

We were there last Sept. 19th-24th and there wasn't anything dry about that trip. We went through 2 outfits a day because it was so humid and we were sweating so much. HOWEVER, we did enjoy the super low crowds and walked on to almost every ride so, for us, it was a great trade-off for the weather.

We went last year from the 9th to the 17th, it was hot, but it was worth it, we however did not experience ONE single drop of rain!!!! I still cant believe it! We are returning this September from the 14th to th 24th and I am sure we wont be so lucky! However... we really got our moneys worth we did not have to wait in ANY lines ever! I look back on our pictures and it was well worth it to go in September. I dont even remember how hot it was ....high 80 mid 90....spent lots of time at water parks too....they were a bit more crowded I think............all I know is I cant wait to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :thumbsup2 :sunny:

we went "home" also during the last week of September last year. Boy were we in for a reality check, being from the north. It was extremely hot but we managed just fine. We had no problem getting on any of the rides, especially the water ones like Splash Mountain (my favorite), Kali River Rapids, etc. Just pace yourself and you should be fine. Don't try to overdo it buy staying in the parks all day and get overheated. We returned to our resort during the middle of the day to take a nap or swim in the pools. Use common sense and drink lots of liquids, especially water- that is the best for you. We are going back this year from 9/19-9/26, are we crazy or what?? Hey- free dining can't be missed to save a ton of money. Good Luck!!!! I really liked late at night with hanging out by the pool with a drink in hand- that was awesome!!!!!

September is still summer in Florida; yes, even the last week in September. Very hot and humid ... that's why it's hurricane season.

1) It is hot, humid, hot.
2) It is NOT a "dry" heat.
3) It is a humid, sticky heat.
4) To prepare
. . . bring light colored closes
. . . bring lose fitting closes
. . . drink LOTS of water
. . . take frequent breaks during the day
. . . go to air condirtioned attractions as often as possible

Thanks for all the input. Greatly appreciated. Right now where I live it is 37degrees celsius. With a humidity level 43degrees celcius. When converted to fahrenheit it is about 98 but feels 109. So I guess if I can bear thru this heat than 89-94 should be a breeze. I will definitely take precautions and drink plenty of water. I hope the days when we go to AK the weather will be slightly cooler. That's the park my daughter is looking most forward too! I will take advantage of the A/C areas of the parks. With the free dining plan I will put up with the heat no matter what. Thanks again for your information.

I plan on taking breaks during the hottest part of the day (and swimming!) I know the humidity is going to bring us down, even though we've been in 100 degree weather a lot this month. Humidity really makes it ecky. I'm still gonna have fun. WOO HOO! :cool1:

We went in Sept. 2004 and it was awful. So very hot and humid. Everyone is right about Animal Kingdom being the worst when it comes to the heat. Don't let it spoil your trip. Even though it was hot, we still had a most wonderful time! Just pace yourself, drink lots of water, and you can always escape to many places that have air conditioning. :sunny:

There is no such thing as a dry heat in the southeastern US. EVER! It is a semi-tropical climate. You would have to go west about 1000 miles, like to west Texas, to even get close to experiencing a dry heat.

:sunny: :sunny: :sunny: HOT HOT HOT, HUMID too. But, it's 98 here now with the humidity it feels 110 out. So we are more humid and hotter than Florida is now. Have fun and take a/c breaks. We will be going to Florida 8/31 to visit our best friends can't wait, I love Florida. :sunny: :sunny:

What does "not crowded"? really means? Is it very different from May crowds? Even with the free DDP? Can you walk directly to any attraction in a non-EMH day? :cloud9: well, that's hopping too much, but I heard so much about lower crowds in September, that I don't want to raise my expectations too much....
What do you think? :bounce:

Yes you can walk on to some rides, we have even been there and rode a ride twice it was so slow. I think the most we have ever waited at that time of year is 20 mins.
