I'm from Northern Ontario and we are going to POR Sept 23-31. How hot and humid is it really going to be? Should we be packing extra shirts to change into every afternoon? After the summer we have had I'm looking forward to a little sunshine, but I'm worried a bit as well. We went before in February and it was really cool, we felt right at home. :rotfl:

It is very hot and humid. You didn't say how far north you live but either way it's hot.

If you want to pack extra clothes you can but you can also do a load of laundry. Which is what we do. The laundry rooms are right beside the pools and it's easy to do a load while you swim or have a drink at the bar.

I have not idea why there is thumbs down on my post....I didn't put it there :confused3

We have been at the same time you are going the last 2 years. We always had an afternoon break that included a swim and shower and a "fresh shirt". I did a few loads of laundry while at the pool.

I love the heat, but it is nice to put on a clean and dry shirt.

we do laundry midway through the trip and count on 2 pair undies, socks, bras and T shirts on most days! When you head out your door at 7am and by 7:05am you're sweating, you know it's hot!! Enjoy it tho after the summer we've had!

I was there the last week of September 2008 and really didn't find it that bad. Actually, I thought the weather was perfect. That is going to be the week I go down from now on. We did take a mini trip down last month for my birthday and I swear I will NEVER go in July again...I like the heat but wow!

I'm not a heat lover so I think I'm in trouble. I'll just imagine the worst and hopefully it won't feel that bad. I'm from the north shore of Lake Superior so the lake keeps us pretty cool. Will we need tons of water like they do in July and August?

We're from So Cal and I really like it in Sept. Yes it can be hot, but it's not overbearingly hot. But it is humid-here in So Cal we don't get much humidity.

I find myself wearing tank tops most of the time and I don't wear them that often at home. Also, my hair starts out fine at the beginning of the day but soon starts to curl up. It's not long before I put it up. If it really starts looking bad I wear a hat (something I never do at home!)

Here's my hot weather tips:
Drink plenty of water-it's free in the parks (not in bottles, but in cups)
Walk in the shade and/or stores as much as possible.
Take an afternoon break
Eat in an a/c location-especially at lunch.
Wear a hat.
Go to the water parks-TL and BB are both great!
Relax and take it easy.

The humidity will be as bad as you can imagine - at least it usually is in September when we go.

Best tip (hope you are staying on property).....go extra early so you are first in and get out by noon - get some fast passes for your favourites as you leave. Go back later in the evening and use your fastpasses - lines shouldn't be too bad anyways.

If you do stay, have a sit down lunch (AC) and then do indoor attractions in the afternoon.

Freeze your waterbottles (feel great on the back of the neck). You'll still have an amazing time - there's enough AC pumping around that you will find cool spots!

I will never forget the feelling of the humidity once the door to the passageway opened when we were deplaning. WHOOOSH!!!! THE HUMIDITY hit me like a ton of bricks. My sons glasses immediately fogged up and he couldn't see :lmao:

Feeling sticky all day and if I had a hair stuck to me, I had to find it and get it off me!! My skin was constantly damp in the humidity, I never did my hair, just put it in a pony right out of the shower.

But we lived to tell about it. We never took ponchos or umbrellas, we just prefered to get wet and cool down a bit. I had a water bottle hodler clipped to my pants with a carbineer (sp?) and a water bottle holder around my neck and carried one. That was enough to get us through the morning or afternoon.

We always went back to the resort to shower/change before dinner. We did laundry part way through the trip too. But I prefer Dec weather. Warm but no humidity.

Enjoy your trip!!

WOW! SO glad I found this thread. We have only been in January and November so I had no idea there would still be humidity. We are from outside DC and the humidity is bad in August, but gone by the end of September. Really it is sticky BAD??
