How horrible is Memorial Weekend?

That might be our only chance to get there this year. But I'm worried about the crowds.

We will be there that weekend too! Maxpass will help. When comparing hotel rates, I was surprised to see they were pretty low for a holiday weekend. Cheaper than summer dates I put in.

Maxpass is new since our last visit in 2016. I'll have to read up on it.

I would just mentally prepare for big crowds lol. That way if it’s not as bad as you imagined, it won’t be such a big shock.

Also plan accordingly: get there early, take advantage of fast/max pass, etc.

We always go on major holidays, other weekends, and summer. All we have ever known is "crowded", but that has never stopped us from going. Go early, get Max Pass.

Our friends went last year since the crowd level pricing and it wasn't as bad as years before.

My daughter and I will be there that weekend also. A quick "stop" on our way to Aulani. We are planning on getting MaxPass and going early in the mornings.

We were there for Memorial Day weekend last year and, other than the newly opened GoTG (lines all the way back to the gate and then doubling back again!) it was totally fine. I have been at other times when things were MUCH busier. With MaxPass now it would be even better, I'd think.

We will be there that weekend as well. We did not get a choice of days. The high school band (we are in WA), is going down to play in the park on Memorial day. I can't have my kid there playing and not go see! We arrive Saturday and depart Tuesday afternoon. Busy days are better than no days!

BEST DAY EVER!

Ok, Monday could be crazy, but Saturday and Sunday should be pretty nice as the Deluxe APs are blocked.

Seriously we went last year on the Sunday to start our APs. Since it was a blockout day the crowds were very light. They were the best crowds we've had all year, even better than the Thursday we went in late January. Sundays are usually the worst day to visit, but that Sunday was sooo nice. We only went the one day. I imagine that Monday will be busy. Someone posted last year it wasn't so bad.

We will be there that weekend too. I am sort of hoping that because a lot is down for refurbishment and because Pixar pier will not yet be open plus grad nights falling before and after, maybe it won’t be terrible?! But I’m preparing for the worst. Lol.

The last two memorial day weekends we've done, the Friday and Saturday have been manageable due to the blackout dates. It's the Sunday that will be the worst. If you can get it, use maxpass though as others have said, makes it a lot easier.

The calendar shows Sunday as a blackout date also. Was it still packed even with the APs blocked? I always stay away from fridays and saturdays. Might have to rethink it.

We are only going one day, so I have to choose wisely. We haven't done a one-day trip in probably 10 years. Yikes.

Last year, the Saturday and Sunday really weren't bad, considering that it was a 3 day weekend. We were pleasantly surprised. Then on Monday, the crowds picked up noticeably. Do your research on MP, or at least on FP, have some sort of plan (and a back up plan, too), then be ready to have a great time!

Fridays are bad. And usually Sundays. Saturdays are good 1/2 of the year because of the Deluxe blockouts.
Again we went that Sunday last year and it was A M A Z I N G!
