How hectic is Mother's day at Disney?

We are thinking of planning a trip to Disney around Mother's day ---how crazy will it be? What special events do they have going on?:bounce:

I can only say that we are going at the same time and I'm am not going anywhere near the Magic Kingdom that weekend. Between grad night on the 9th (MK will close early Friday) and Mom's day I'm assuming its going to be packed.

Epcot is supposed to be nice on MD, especially with the flower show there. Also, I read something about a brunch they've had in the past that's supposed to be nice. Called DINE but no info on it yet.

My Mom and I went on Mother's Day in 2000 & 2001. We went to Epcot in the morning, got our free picture taken in the World Showcase, then went to MK in the afternoon and had dinner at Cinderella's. Neither park was overcrowded.

My family was at Epcot on Mothers Day of 2002. We had no problems at all with over crowding. It was, as usual, a great time !

We went in 2002 and did Mother's Day morning at MK. We were there at park opening time and it wasn't bad at all. They gave all of the mothers a carnation. We made the rope drop at Fantasyland and got on everything quickly. The park did get more crowded around lunchtime. We left after lunch at Crystal Palace and then went back to our room for a nap. Then we spent the evening in Epcot and it was pretty empty there. The flowers were beautiful.

They do have a brunch for Mother's Day at Epcot in the old Odyssey restaurant. It was really expensive though (I think close to $30 per adult) so we decided to stick with our original plan.

We had both sets of grandparents with us and surprised the grandmas with an Illuminations Cruise the night before Mother's Day. They loved it and kept saying they felt like they knew "how the other half lived"!

Went the last 2 years. First year we ended the trip right after mothers day, and the next year we started the trip with mothers day. I absolutely love that time and would do it again in a NY second. The crowds are not out of control. We did the Magic Kingdom, MGM and AK during the week. We went to Epcot on Mothers day (we usually don't do those 3 parks on the weekends). We had a lovely time. Weather is nice, usually hot during the day, but have had to bring a jacket for evening. Flowers are beautiful. Lines easy enough to get through.

Been to WDW on Mother's Day a # of times. Crowds very manageable, weather just great.
Some of the table service restaurants can get crowded, as Mother's Day is a very popular day for dining out. But other than that---

We have been on Mother's Day twice. The weather is usually great. Last year, however, it was in the upper 90's  The first year we spent the day at Epcot and went to the Food Among the Flowers brunch. Last year (2002) we went to the Magic Kingdom and I was surprised at how low the crowds were. Space Mt. had a 10 min. wait at 2 pm! Both years I got a carnation and lots of "Happy Mother's Day"s:p

I love it.....what a place to spend your vacation and MD together. Never a problem with crowds except the year Rosie was there. And then we just avoided the area where she was. No problem.
