With all the mixed reviews with the healthy changes at WDW, I wondered if we could get a percentage of who is actually happy with them on the Disboards.

Who thinks WDW should be a free for all junk food fest and who encourages healthy eating habits on vacation??

We eat whaever we want on vacation. There are no calories or fat in Disney food is our philosophy. But DD has been known to choose fruit instead of fries (she's 16). And we prefer a whole grain bread to white so it doesn't bother us that Casey's changed their rolls.

I am a diabetic and have had no problems balancing my diet when we have been at Disney. I can still have a few fries and a cheeseburger and know that it is okey. I love the chicken fingers because of the nice white meat that it has and I dont think they are greasy. I am ready to go back .....:thumbsup2
I like fresh fruit too, and get it when I am in the mood in disney. Plus if I want a giant ice cream cone......LETs go for it

I work hard dieting and exercising all year. When I'm on vacation, thats part of what Im on vacation from. I eat and drink what I want when I want...and its usually not healthy food. Theres nothing wrong with a Mickey bar or Margarita for lunch, right? ;)

Once I get home I get back on track, but vacations are for fun.

I'm glad there are healthy options available. I work hard all year and don't want to blow it on vacation. We usually walk 9-10 miles a day at WDW, so I do not feel guilty about having a Mickey rice krispie treat or sharing an ice cream cookie sandwich (Toll House rock!) with DH. If I want fries, I have some, but most of the time I have fruit. I don't eat mayonnaise at home so why would I start just because I'm on vacation? I always eat whole grain breads, even my daily English muffin is whole grain. I also do not eat fried food at home or heavy sauces at home, so that's not something I'm going to dive into because I'm on vacation.

I love sweets and enjoy dessert every day. DH and I split nearly all of our meals, though, because the portions are so huge.

We do not go to restaurants that often at home, so eating restaurant food for 10 days is a bit of a luxury to us.

Still don't understand what all of the fuss is about, though . . . :confused3

I work hard to eat healthy at home. So, at Disney. I can indulge. :goodvibes

There isn't an other option so I didn't vote. I don't mind wheat over white bread or anything like that. I would only have a problem if Disney tried to make everything healthy and got rid of all the fries and ice cream, etc. Then I'd have a problem.

Eating healthy is like for everyday normal life at home. On vacation I should get to enjoy myself and eat whatever I choose (and I do). If ever there was a time to stuff my face, it'd be on vacation. And Disney World is the best possible vacation to do it on because I do so much walking, it's like I'm still being healthy.

I kind of need another option as well. We like to eat whatever we want but since honestly 10 meals of burgers and fries doesn't do anything to appeal to me, I need to mix it up. I like having a mix of healthy and nonhealthy treats. That being said- I don't think changing a white roll to a wheat like substance which is really not any better is a real healthy change and quite frankly don't get why they even bothered.

We like to mix it up while on vacation. We eat healthy at home and when we are on vacation that is the time we indulge. However, like others noted, I don't want to eat burgers all day, every day.....but I do want my french toast loaf, ice cream cookie sandwiches and dole whips.

We eat whatever. So far, we love all the changes they've made.

As long as they don't switch out the burgers to soy, I'm fine with it.

I did not vote either, since I feel I fall between the two options.....I love my WDW desert and appies, but I do try to sneak in at least one salad during our 9 days vacation..he he he. That being said, I count weight watchers point all year long, just so I don't have to at WDW. Plus all the walking erases any guilt from eating all the goodies.

PS...can't wait to visit Goofy's Candy Co., for the first time, and splurge on one of those hand dipped, crunch and candy coated rice krispie Mickey bars.

I really don't see the situation as an either/or, so the poll didn't really work for me. (I did vote for the healthy option, though, as it seemed to get to the heart of your question. Yes, I'm happy with healthier options and any healthy changes Disney makes.)

You can still get junk food all over the place at WDW, and now there are more healthy options, too. From what I can tell, the negative responses to the changes come for some misperceptions about the changes &/or the idea that a particular (favorite) junk food has changed. That's not the same thing as no junk food being available. It's still more difficult to eat healthily at WDW than it is to eat poorly.

I did not vote because it really doesn't bother me either way. Vacation is one of the times where everyone eats whatever they want but I'm happy folks who want to eat a bit healthy have some choices. It'll never be me, but what the hey, I'm at disney

I don't really care what they do with the menus, I'll seek out the least healthy thing on there! ;)

As long as there are lots of options..I don't mind if they offer some healthy things. I eat whatever I feel like eating, whether it's a salad or a cheeseburger. It's good to have options.

Another vote in the middle!

I enjoy some of the less healthy options, but by about Day 4 tend to favour healthier options with a few treats mixed in! *LOL*

But I want to be able to make those decisions--not have someone make them for me!
