Hubby and I are leaving either sunday 1/22 (if i can talk him into adding a day) or monday 1/23. How have the crowds been latley? How about the weather? I know that the weather changes constantly..... Soo excited about the EE preview on thursday!

We went last week (9-15 January) and during Mon-Fri the crowd levels when the parks first opened were fine. We were able to ride all our favorites multiple times without waiting in lines. The weekend was much busier.

The temperatures were in the mid 70's to 80 degrees during the week, but it was cold and windy last weekend.

We were there last week (Monday, January 9th - Saturday, January 14th).

We walked onto everything. The only exception was Soarin' in the afternoon of Wednesday, Jan. 11th. We walked on in the morning and went back in the afternoon and took a FastPass.

The weather was spectacular all week - sunny and warm - high 70's every day. Could not have been better. It cooled off on Saturday morning, but we were heading home, so it didn't matter to us.

It was a perfect week for us - we even got upgraded to Concierge at the Boardwalk Inn.

Have fun!

for those just back, did you wear shorts all day? we won't be going back to the hotel during the day so i'm wondering if we'll be warm enough w/ shorts, t-shirt, & a sweatshirt assuming it's in the 70s next week.

I'm curious on the clothes thing also. I can't figure out if I should be wearing shorts or pants.

We leave on 1/30 - I'm hoping there isn't any leftover crowds from the EE thing.

I wore shorts on Friday (1/13) and on Sunday during the day-- once the sun went down it got chilly very quickly.

Saturday, it was COLD. and windy. no shorts then.

I was there January 9-14 and we wore jeans all day mainly because early morning and the evening can get a bit cold. On Saturday it was so windy and cold that we wore thick jackets to the parks.

Hi,
Just got back last night from WL. 2/2-2/15, we had a blast, but many of the cm I spoke with said it was unusually cold. Now , being from NY state, we thought the cooler weather was great. Jeans and t-shirts or even sweatshirts during the day and a fleece and windbreaker for the evening. Couple nights could have used gloves, but it was great. The only big problem were our cold hineys from splash mountain!! :teeth: . The crowds were great! I don't think we waited longer than 15 minutes on anything and we took advantage of the EMH at night, I think the cold may have kept some people away. Only thing, which we can't really complain about was the High school cheerleading competition was going on at the time. We found the majority of the girls to be polite, respectful and no trouble at all.
Ask about the soft opening for EE in AK, and take advantage of what seemed to be the quickest FP lines we've ever experienced at all the parks!!
Have fun and enjoy!
Nancy
PS we tied the fleeces around the kids and our waists and brought one small, child size backpack with extra water and used it for our cameras and autograph books, we rolled up our windbreakers and stuffed them in as well.!

Wow, you only wore jeans and t-shirts during the day?? I'm from Oregon and I'm used to cold weather but it was sooooo cold! I wore jeans, two shirts, a sweater, a coat and a scarf. That's what I wore everyday except for the first day. :cold: :cold: I was so cold and it was incredibly windy.

We left on Feb. 14th and it was so cold that there was ice on the wings of the plane. Because MCO doesn't have deicer, we had to sit on the plane from 6:30am-8:15am while the sun melted the ice off the wings. So..it was pretty cold.

By the way, I was there Feb. 10-14th. :) I was hoping for warm weather, but we had an amazing time anyway. It was our best trip. :thumbsup2
