How has the new reservation system (all cr cd guarentee) affected your dining?

How does the new policy affect your family?

  • No effect. Will still make ADR's as before the policy change.

  • Will no longer make any ADR's.

  • Will make only a few ADR's, not as many as I used to make.

  • other (always gotta have an other! please explain)

How has the new system of leaving a credit card on every reservation affected *your* family's dining plans?

I'm planning our summer trip, and, frankly, have no desire to make any ADR's. I just can't get excited about meal planning any more. We're staying 3 nights at the Hard Rock at Universal before WDW. I think we'll do our nice dinners at City Walk and stick to counter service at WDW. At most, I may make 1 or 2 ADR's, but no more than that.

(When you stay at one of the 3 US deluxe resorts, you get FOTL for most restaurants as well as rides.)

This should not be a problem. This probably started to deter those people who make reservations and don't show up.

It not fair you make reservations and don't use them.

Some of the popular restaurants you have cancel 24 to 48 prior to you reservations.

I never had a problem.

I voted other because the new policy has made it so much easier to make ADRs. I love the new policy. We planned our May trip after the 180 day mark had passed. Prior to the cc guarantee policy, we would have been SOL for our favorite ADRs. Instead, we were able to get everything we wanted and very close to the exact times we wanted.

No. We don't have a trip planned, but I always made only ADRs we intnded to keep. In 9 trips, we only canceled one after we arrived at Disney; that was pur trip last year when we changed our mind about Cape May six days out.

I voted will make only a few but it's not because I don't understand why they had to put the new system in place. People abused it so they had to make a change.

My DH has had more surgeries than I can count on 2 hands in the 8 years we've been married. Some of those have affected his digestive system. We would likely know a few hours out if we had to cancel a res (and we would cancel as soon as we knew!) but not a day out. So what it comes down to for us is that I can't afford to make ADR's that we can't keep and I'll be charged for everyday.

It doesn't make a difference to me. We were always courteous and cancelled reservations if we weren't going to make it. The only time I can think that we cancelled last minute (and would be charged now) was when my husband hit his head and had to go to Urgent Care for staples in his head. We missed dinner. Stuff happens.
