How hard will it be to get SSR on these dates...

Sept 26th-Oct 3rd.

We got developer points and are using them for two stays. One bday trip in April and one for MNSSHP and F&W in Sept/Oct. I am now worried because I called today and while I got the April no problemo she said I couldnt book SSR until February 26th because that is my 7th month window and developer points can only be used at 7 month windows. I am a little worried that they expire 10/3 so ALOT of people will be using them that last minute week for the same reason we are. Thoughts? I know a lot of you say you can usually get SSR....

Doesn't do any good to worry about it. All you can do is wait and try to book at 7 months. DVD creates problems when they decide to offer developer points with the same expiration date. Good luck.

SSR easier that time of year. The hard ones are BCV and BWV due to the Food & Wine.

And the expriations are staggared based on your purchase date I think. I don't think all of the DP's expire at the same time.

If you call when the 7 month window opens, you will not have a problem.

SSR is very large and as CarolA posted, the EPCOT resorts are the ones that are more difficult at that time. Try not to worry.

Hmm... I might be wrong, Carol, but BLT seems to be unique. I think all points expire on Oct 3. Probably because it opens in Sept and was basically within the year anyway when it went on sale. I've read others posting that they all expire on Oct 3 here too.

We're in the same boat. We're already thinking seriously about that week too. My bet is that a lot of the early purchasers at BLT are. I thought about this last night when my wife and I were pinning down our date now that F&W dates are announced. Problem is, we don't have any choice (ALL of us). If we want to use our points for F&W, that's the ONLY week we can use it.

Some of us are gonna be upset around Feb 27. That's my guess, unfortunately.

Yes, I haven't seen anyone with BLT developer points say anything other than this date.

Unless they changed the developer point rules you can't waitlist with developer points.

As others have mentioned SSR is a large resort. I have never had any trouble booking resorts in September. Just to be safe though you should call first thing in the morning at the 7 month mark.

FYI - it's not just BLT owners.....

We bought AKV in December and our DP's also expire on 10/3, and guess what week DW and I were planning on trying to use them???

OH... I was thinking of SSR DP points not the BLT ones. Didn't realize those had that tight of an "expriation" date. YIKES!

you shouldn't have a problem with SSR at 7 months. I booked a 1BR for 12/12-12/20 at 6 months out with no problem and that's a busy time with DVC because the points are so low! SSR is huge and I have not heard of anyone having difficulty booking.
