How hard to book Wish MV for a first timer?

And honestly, there's the problem. While I don't necessarily have a problem with # of cruises, I feel like # of days at sea should play into it too, kind of like the airline segments / miles strategy. I have a friend who's got 17 cruises, but all 3 and 4 nighters. We're waiting for #10 in January, but I've already been on almost 90 nights due to the length of the cruises we've been on.

Oh well. The Mouse didn't ask me... :-D

When DCL started sailing back in 1998 the only itineraries were 3 & 4 night sailings for both the Magic & Wonder. So some people have quite a few of those sailings because there was no choice.

Damn do you guys think I'd have a better chance just booking a B2B for one of the other itineraries they got for the wish?

Yes. That is my plan B. Not looking forward to stopping in Nassau twice or trying to stay out of the way of rushing 3-night guests, but odds are it'll be two more nights for the same (or less depending on how high Disney will go) price.

Tier 1 Platinum Florida resident here (not part of the poll mentioned above) who will not be booking the MV as it conflicts with the Greek Isles cruise on the Magic that I will be on. I will be calling on the 17th to book another date.
I’ve read a lot of platinum cruisers on this board say they are not booking the MV. During the same time period Im booked on the 11 night Greek isles holy land cruise on Royals new ship new odyssey of the sea.

I bet my 11 night cruise to Jerusalem cost less than the 5 night MV Bahamas cruise.
Greece/ Israel vs Nassau there’s no contest.

I’ve been on 23 Disney cruisers plus 4 on other lines. I think most platinum cruisers seek out the more exotic cruises. Gold and Silvers might have a chance. The non-refundable deposit combined with the uncertainity of Covid may also deter people.

I don’t know what the chances of it becoming open to non cc members. I’m guessing theirs going to be a lot of corporate and media types on board that hog up a bunch of rooms.

The MV is a general public sailing. They will have sailings prior to the MV for media and industry folks.

This is my plan as well. The MV is just attractive because it's 5 nights and I want to be able to take some time to see the ship and eat at all 5 restaurants (MDRs plus Palo and Enchante). I'm trying to talk myself off the ledge of booking the MV if I even have the chance (I'm gold CC) because I think we will get a better bang for our buck if we just wait and go later in the season when some of the fervor dies down. Or even just wait until 2023.

Good luck with whichever plan works out !

We did a B2B2B on the Dream in December 2019. We are stay on the ship people in Nassau, but on one of the Nassau days we did an excursion that was new to us that we actually quite enjoyed - Nassau Forts and Junkanoo Discovery (N30) - https://disneycruise.disney.go.com/port-adventures/nassau-bahamas-nassau-forts-junkanoo-discovery/ - it was only about 3 hours so a nice balance of time off the ship and on. It was educational and *interesting* and fun. The other two Nassau days we treated as sea days and relaxed on board, watching movies and just hanging out and enjoying the ship.

We plan on doing a B2B on the Wish in early 2023.

I was thinking b2b Wish then Fantasy.

When the Dream came out we did B2B on the 2nd and 3rd sailings after the MV. My B2B was much less expensive than the MV for the same cabins.
I won’t be trying for the MV this time either or any of the other summer dates. I may try for one of the September sailings.

It would be nice to know the cash price before calling at 8AM that day. Any idea if the prices will be available earlier in the day than that?
