How hard is this?

Has anyone stayed at the Boardwalk during the marathon in January and booked 7 months out? We are trying to figure out if we should book at our home Wilderness at 11 months or hold off and book the Boardwalk at 7 months (this is where we REALLY want to stay). Last year we waited until 7 months before and there were not rooms (of any size) anywhere at any hotel (DVC). We don't want to get stuck again but really want to be at the Boardwalk.

Any thoughts? HELP!!!

Can't you book at your home resort and then if you call and they have rooms at boardwalk switch? Then at least you have something. That's what i would do. Good luck.

Staying at the BWV during the marathon is nice if you are watching a runner come in to finish the marathon. If you are a runner, you still have to take a bus to the start line since you can't enter through the International Gateway that early in the AM.

You could also try the BCV. Just call exactly at 7 months ahead of time. But make your reservation at your home resort first.

This past Jan marathon weekend was 5, 6, & 7th

I called 7 months out (it wasnt exact, maybe like 6 1/2 months out) and tried to get a 2 bedroom BWV but it wasnt available until the 8, 9 & 10th

They had 1 bedroom preferred available starting at Jan 1st

I didnt check on a studio or standard views.

I would book at your home resort and try changing

You will only have a slight chance at getting a ressie at the BWV for a two bedroom at 7 months out. It might be better for you to rent your points and use the money to buy points from a BWV owner to transfer in to your account. I don't believe in luck when I'm on vacation so I would do the above. My wait lists for prime time rarely come thru so I dumped my HH contract and bought more BWV so I won't have to worry again. AlthoughI'm still waitlisted for a Boardwalk view studio for any day 1st week of DEC. I didn't make it at the 11 month window like my other rooms and only needed two nights for my aunt but nothing available at 10 months out. BW will only be harder and harder to book especially with WDW traffic getting busier and busier.

I would book at your home resort just to be sure. Then, at the 7 month window, call and see what your options. This way, you will definitely be assured of at least your home resort for the marathon.

Our home resort is BWV and we just completed our reservations for the marathon. We booked a BW View Studio for the 10-14th.

Now we can focus on our planning
