Post cruise trip to the Parks and we have decided to skip Cirque having seen it already and instead do V&A. we are NOT on DP, are actually are staying at SoG so if I understand correctly I can't make ressies until what 90 days out?

we usually take the middle of the week off.. just do DTD maybe resort hop( I promise no pool hopping..:rolleyes1) and do a NICE dinner that Wednesday night.

He thinks we should just do the regular one and not worry about the Chef's table so I am not concerned about that.

Already found out I can have a shellfish free option for the fish course and he can have all the lobster and scallops he can cram down his throat.

Wine pairing is DEFINITELY an option for at least one of us.. heheheh and we both want elk..

Question though, about the Kobe option.. having lived in Japan once before I have had real Kobe beef. is this stuff worth the substantial extra fee? I mean the stuff I remember didn't even need to be chewed it was so tender.....

The Chef's Table is the hard get. When my sister booked, she called 4-5 days in a row at 6:59 a.m... and only got it once. The main dining room will not fill as quickly. Regarding the cost, extras.. I've only done the CT, but it was a great experience, one I'd love to get the chance to do again. FWIW.

Not difficult at all unless you want the Chef's Table. For that you have to be on the phone at 90 days out, as soon as the dining line opens, because there is only one Chef's Table seating on the nights it's offered and when it's gone, it's gone.

Victoria & Albert's does not accept the dining plan so it doesn't matter if you're on the plan or not.

You cannot book the Chef's Table on 90 + 10 even if you are staying onsite (which the OP is not) because there's only one seating per night.

Next question: what's the latest you can get ressies? I just realized that our park stay is actually only 4 full days. usually we stay for five and take a day off in the middle to skip the parks and just veg. our last night is Wednesday and that is the day we want to go. but we also want to put in a full day at the park and have time to get back to the hotel room and change into fancy duds.

I suppose we could plan AK for that day as it closes sooner.... Lord know we can do it without am EMH since last time we never got there until after they had ended.

something along 1930-2000 would be perfect for us.

Normally V&A has two seatings. The first starts around 5:30 and seats until about 6:15. Then they start again around 8:00 until about 8:45.

And you should be aware that elk, lobster and scallops may not be on the menu that particular night.
Chances of getting a later seating are almost always better than the earlier times.

Last time we were there, they had no steak on the regular menu at all. Just pork, lamb, and veal. So Kobe (and the Wagyu) were the only options if you wanted steak. Personally it isn't worth the extra $30 or $80 cost--but Mrs U got it only for the previous reason.

8-ish would be perfect for us.. heck we might even be able to sneak in a nap! heheheh

if there is no elk I will be bummed.. but would settle for Duck or lamb....

it's all coming together. just as soon as I know that week's hours I can start planning my in park ADRs too.. woohoo!
