How hard is it to book OKW grand villa?

I want to book the Grand Vila in Oct. To do so I will need to acquire 30 points. I was curious if these accomodations are diificult to book before I do so. Anyone ever tried?

We got one once for August at seven months out. I did have to be flexible with the dates, however.

Since you need 30 points anyway, maybe you could rent the whole stay from an OKW owner? Then you could rent your own points out at your home resort to cover the cost? Just a thought.

Hope you are able to get what you want...we loved the grand villa and would love to stay in one again!

Risky situation unless you reserve exactly 11 months out (which window you are already past). Some report success at less than 11 months out and even at 7 but then I have also seen reports of members not being able to find one even at 10 1/2 months out.

October might not be as difficult as other times, but certainly more difficult at the 7 month window. We booked a GV for late January in August this year, so it is possible. October is the time for teacher's union breaks, so it can be a bit tougher then as well as the F&W festival.

How about end of June at 7 months? I'm hoping to get a GV in a couple of years. I'm going to reserve at my home resort and hopefully be able to move my reservation to a GV at 7 months.

We are hoping to get a OKW GV in september. It will be exactly on the dates when the Member Cruise is happening, so maybe all OKW owners will be aboard the Disney Dream and leave room at OKW for us...

There's hope.

But I also have a few backup plans, like splitting into a 2BR and a studio (not necessarily at OKW, because I think that would be a GV again anyway).

Book a two bedroom and studio at your home resort now. Then if you can't get OKW in October, you'll still have somewhere to stay.

Oh, don't worry, as soon as I got to the 11-month marker I booked 3 studios at BLT, it was all I could afford there with my points

Called MS yesterday afternoon to inquire about GV at OKW for May 19-22 (Thurs-Sun). Was shocked but pleased that they had availability for my dates so we are booked!
Assume it is a bit of a "shoulder season" since Flower and Garden Festival would have just ended the previous weekend and Memorial Day is not til the 31st. Have stayed at OKW GVs twice before...wonderful! Good luck!

That is great luck! We have booked an OKW GV less than 6 months out for an entire week the first week of May. I've actually done that twice after the seven month window. I do have some OKW points, but I was looking to burn some Vero and SSR points at the time. So I waited till after the 7 month window. I know that I should have called at 7 months. But we were still trying to nail people down at 7 months.

Just booked today a GV at OKW for the 1st of Dec. for 6 nights. This will be our first time down during the Christmas season. Called at 8am, tried to get in the HH area but couldn't. Just glad I got a GV. I am wait listed for the HH area. Now the countdown starts!

Good luck! We've only stayed in a GV once, but wow, was it wonderful!
