How hard is it to book GCV in summer?

We are looking for a 2 bd in late July next summer. We don't own there so we will be booking at 7 months out. How likely is this? If we don't get a villa, is it hard to book DL resort on points at 4-5 months out?
We're excited to try DL for the first time but don't know how hard it will be to get in.

Hi there, I booked a GCV studio villa at the 7 month mark for next week. I did have to wait list one of the nights but it came in within a week. I did notice that 2 bedrooms were also available when I booked.

You have a good chance at getting a 2 bd, just make sure you are on line at 8am eastern

I got a 1 bedroom for the Sunday to Wednesday nights before D23 the past 3 conventions (8/2013, 8/2015, 7/2017). I could have got a studio for Sunday through Tuesday nights but I didn't want to switch. We then moved to Paradise Pier for Thursday to Saturday nights on cash. There was 3 of us this year, so a 1 bedroom was really nice.

I wouldn't think a 2br would be too much of an issue if you book at 8am.

I own at VGC and the studios book the fastest. You should be fine at 7 months if you are booking a 2 bedroom.
