How hard is it to add someone to our room?

Our trip in April is a done deal (financially speaking), but an adult family member has expressed an interest in joining us. Not sure how that works. Can they be added to our cabin? Currently there are four of us in a category 6 (two adults, two teens). Would we be cramped? I do have a call into my TA, but was hoping someone here could provide some info. Thanks so much!

If I'm not mistaken, I believe now when you add someone to your room (assuming it is within occupancy limits), you have to pay the rate as of that day you're adding them. It used to be at the rates you booked.

I know this is more difficult to do with children because they have a limit because of the clubs and nursery.

I don't believe Cat 6 takes five in a cabin....

We added my sister (adult) three days before our Magic cruise in January and she paid the same rate as my parents. (They had a cat 9 so three passengers was no problem)

All of her documents were pier pickup but it worked out great.

None of the category 6 cabins sleep more than 4 people. When you have 5 people, you'd need at least a category 4 cabin.

Which means I'd probably have to pay more $$$ for our stateroom, going from a 6 to a 4. I don't have my Passporter handy, would a category 4 room have a verandah? Thanks again.

Yes there is a verandah attached to those staterooms

And, generally, what you'll pay for the Cat 4, you can probably get a Cat 6 with a Cat 11 across the hall. Much more room that way, and you'll still have the one verandah, at least!
