How good is the new summer promo discount?

I have been playing around with dates for May and June. We have AP's but just to compare I plugged in some dates on the website without the AP discount. May 21-25 (one night is a weekend) at POP came to $573. The summer promo popped up offering a 30% discount if booked as a package with tickets. June 17-21(same number of nights as May dates but no weekend nights ) came up as $1055 incldes 2 5 day MYW tickets. Now....to help me figure out if this package was a good deal I subtracted the $573 that the May ressie would be and came out to $482. So, essentially $482 for 2 5 day MYW tickets. This is $30 each off of UT prices. Sounds like a really good deal since really the June is summer rates and should be more expensive than the May dates. Am I missing something?

Summer discount for GP (not AP) for 6/17-6/21 at POP, room only, 2 adults is $547 (tax included). With the current summer discount, you can choose to get either a room only, or a package with tickets. I'd assume that with an AP, you'd also be able to book a room only.

If you chose to get tickets as well (you could always take them off your KTTW and upgrade to an AP later), 1094.54. (Again, this is the GP offer, not the AP offer which would save an extra 5%.)

Whether or not it is a good deal is up to you. If you have APs, you'd be free to use those and save the tickets that came with the package to upgrade later (don't forget to use them just before (not this trip) you upgrade to lock in the current gate price). In the long run, as long as you plan to have APs again, or even just go again, it would save you money and is a good deal. If you want more liquidity with your money and not have it tied up tickets, then perhaps not.
