How good is the Magic Kingdom Fireworks view from Windsor Hills?

Hey fellow DISers.

We are trying to decide on a property to rent in October in Windsor Hills. One of the properties we are looking at (a townhome) says that it has a clear view of the Magic Kingdom Fireworks and some Epcot too! This is very exciting to us, but I was wondering if you really could see them from the neighboorhood.

I know Windsor Hills is a popular offsite rental resort, so some one has to have something to say about this!

I just don't want to but that in the Pro's list on this rental if there is not really a good chance of seeing them.

Please help me out!
Thanks in advance.

We rented a condo in WH that was on the third floor. We could see a teeny-tiny bit of Illuminations from our lanai. I doubt that you would be able to see much from a townhouse. Sorry......

You may be able to see them but only from an upstairs window and then only highest of the fireworks. Don't let this be a deciding factor for you.
We stayed in WH in one of the 6br homes and could see the Epcot fireworks from the upstairs master bedroom. They're not too impressive from that distance and after the first night we didn't even bother to go up. Magic Kingdom is further away than Epcot. I've seen them from the car along 192 but again it isn't impressive.
Choose the townhouse that you like best.
Take a drive into Grand Floridian and watch them from the dock by Narcoosee's.

As Wanda says, don't let the fireworks views be the deciding factor. You can never beat being actually at the fireworks, and you'll only ever be able to see the high aerial ones from Windsor Hills.

We can see the fireworks from the balcony of the villa we stay at in Formosa Gardens (approx same distance), and we often sit out at night with a drink and watch them, however, its not a deciding factor but really a nice to have.

thanks everyone for their input. I will let the other people I am going with know everything you said, so that we can make a good choice.

I knew in my heart that the view couldn't be that good...I am a disney vet, I just always stay on property. This is our first time trying to stay off property since I was a little girl.

I don't know if you're interested, but you might want to check out the Bonnet Creek thread. We stayed there, and from building 5 the fireworks were excellent (both MK and Epcot). It's really the best cross of onsite/offsite (and I've stayed lots of places in the Lake Buena Vista area). Just a thought!
