It looks like I am only able to get Cat 3 level seating for the date/times we want. How good / bad is the view? There is Cat 1 available but I know you can't get that covered by the dining plan (we are going for free dining). I know I could pay oop but I this year we are doing both Cirque and the horseback trail rides so I really didn't want another expense. My girls REALLY want to do the campfire and movie so I need to book do the 5pm show? If the view is really that bad with CAT 3 would it be better to convince my girls to skip the campfire and do the Cat 1 seating at the 9:30 show (which I know is covered by the DP? Any advice would be appreciated as I need to book this ASAP?

We did the category 3 last year with the FD and it really wasn't bad. We were in the balcony, but the chairs swiveled so we had no problem seeing the show, or eating. Some of the players came upstairs and interacted with the balcony guests as well. I think you'll be fine, we were.

I don't think there really are that many bad seats for the show. We've sat in all three categories at one point, and actually most of my group preferred the balcony seating because it was a little more out of the way. All of the balcony tables are against the railing so you can see. The performers are interactive with all of the guests, not just the ones on the main floor. I'm sure you'll still have a good time in category 3!

We are huge HDDR fans, it is a must every visit. We have been seated all over the room and never been disappointed. Don't let whatever catagory you can get deter you from enjoying the show!! or the dinner!!!! have a great time!

I agree with the other posters, I don't think you will mind being in cat 3. We went last time and had category 1 (oop) and we were way up front, but I wouldn't have minded being farther back or in the balcony, it really didn't seem like there could be any bad spots. As a matter of fact, I think being a little further back might be even better!

It's a fun show and we had really good food. You will have a great time regardless of where you're sitting!!

Have FUN!!! :cheer2:

We've been in Cat 1, really enjoyed that--being on the floor and up close--but two years ago (August) we did free dining and chose the Cat 3. We really liked it! I think (Personally) it would be better than Cat 2 which is the tables on the first floor, but way in the back. We had a great view of the stage and characters came upstairs throughout the show. It was quite enjoyable--our kids loved eating on the swivel chairs!

We have been several times. When we did the DDP, we ended up on the first floor with the table as far back as you could get. The servers would have been going back and forth all the time in front of you. We had also reserved almost 6 months in advance. We asked to be moved and at the very last moment, we moved up to the balcony and really had to look way back over our shoulders. I have been on balcony twice before, but this time was the worst.

I hated for my mother to climb the stairs, she was 79. The next time, I paid for Cat 1 and had a great front view. So I guess it depends, but our DDP seating was the pits!

I have been seated in Category 1 and Category 3. The Category 3 seats were just fine. Pioneer Hall is not very big. Imagine an elementary school gymnasium; that's about how big it is.

We got Category 1 seats this past November. We went to the last seating and ended up at the table right by the stairs to the stage. Six Bits flirted with my wife throughout the show, which we all got a big kick out of.

The crowd was so small that night, they put everyone in Category 1. I'm guessing that only 12 tables were filled. Had I know that in advance, I would have booked a "lesser" category! :rotfl:
