How Full are the Resorts this August?

I booked a good rate in May at Saratoga Springs to be sure I had a room for the dates i will be at Disney (4-10 August). I've been trying to book a deluxe for the same time frame for the last 3 weeks. No availability! We stayed at the Beach Club last year and we were hoping to get that great rate again, or maybe even go for one of the monorail resorts. Nothing seems to be available at "any" rate during that time. Is it due to construction at AKL?
What gives?

WDW seems to be getting more crowded in general each year. Also take into consideration that NC & FL recently bumped back their school year start - they both used to start in early August, and are now late August, so kids that were in school are now holidaying at the parks. But you're right; the AKL being out of circulation has put an added burden on the deluxes.

Didn't even think about school starting later this year, even though we live in
Florida. My daughter's not in public school so it's never been an issue. I'll be checking up until the day we leave with my fingers crossed.

Heather, I read most of your restaurant reviews some time back and enjoyed them immensely. I'm still tempted to try Blue zoo despite the fact you were underwhelmed, but if you have an alternate suggestion We plan on California Grill, Narcoossee's, and...one more (undecided) upscale meal, the rest we'll freelance... maybe Tchoup Chop

Sorry for another restaurant comment, but...put this under the Boardwalk Inn: Go to Flying Fish!! It was probably my best Disney dining experience. Haven't been everywhere though.
