How fast does the Garden Grill Turn?

My husband can't stand anything that spins......he can't even watch it on tv or computer and he feels dizzy and sick. We are interested in eating at the Garden Grill but I heard that it turns in a circle. Is it real noticeable? Does anyone who can't handle things that turn have a problem with this?

I don't think the Garden Grill has been spinning in quite some time. Over a year I believe. Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

I have not been there in several years, so I don't know if it still spins or not. I can tell you that while I was there and it did spin it was very slow. You couldn't really tell it was moving unless you were watching the scenery around you. (Note: I cannot ride the carousel.)

It was spinning last May. I also get sick on things that spin around in circles, but I didn't even notice the movement of the Garden Grill. It is very smooth and slow. I would be involved in conversation with my family or reading something and look up and you could tell we had moved, that was the only way I knew it was turning (and I avoid merry-go-rounds like the plague!).

A lot of people never notice it until it's time to leave and the hostess podium isn't where they thought it was There are 2 speeds IIRC and the "normal" speed makes one complete rotation in an hour

It doesn't even do 33 revolutions per HOUR!

I would actually be shocked if it did 33 revolutions per DAY!

To the OP: It's so smooth and soooooo slow that you don't even notice it. You could have one foot on the moving side and one foot on the non-moving side and barely be able to tell it's moving (and the only reason you could is because your feet would eventually start spreading). When we went, we actually had to eat much slower than normal because we were seated in a crummy location and wanted it to make a full rotation. We were there for over an hour.

In Oct. 08 it was revolving BUT you can barely notice it!!

It was working in November. I think we probably made one rotation for our whole meal. It moves VERY slowly. I'm sure many people probably don't even notice.

It's at least an hour. We were there about 1 hour 20 minutes and went a little past the point where we started. The plan is that you get on at the opening and end at the opening. We went a little past our starting point.

1) Your speed depends upon being on the lower level or upper level.
2) Also, on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, it spins faster than the service.

Went last June and I think it took over an hour to make a full rotation! You don't even notice, you are so involved with the characters and the food, all of a sudden you look up and wow, thats' a new scene!!

BTW, the food there is FABULOUS!! Can't wait to eat there again this summer!!

The spin is not fast at all. You won't even notice it. It is a really neat restaurant. The characters were great. But I must say the food was not that great. We will not be going back this year.

I get motion sick easy! and the garden grills rotation made me feel a little sick after a while but it only effected me when i was going backwards lol... i switched seats with someone on the oposite side of my table and felt ok then!
sounds like im the only one who's been effected by this tho! i didnt think i would be because everyone is right about how slow it rotates! I must be extreamly sensitive!

Yes, to the OP, definitely take this into consideration. People who usually get motion sickness easily should try to sitting in a position going forward instead of backward. The difference may not matter at all, but you might as well try it anyway just in case. You'd hate to start feeling even slightly ill and then realize halfway through the meal that it was because you were going backwards.

Everyone....thanks for the responses. I know that it sets my hubby's mind at ease to know that he will most likely be fine! It just looked like a decent dining experience with good characters......now to see if I can get it when I book my ADR's!!!!!

The movement is SO slow...we were just there a few weeks ago and I don't think we got one full rotation in during our meal. I think your husband will be fine. I'm not a fan of spinning ride at all either...but this is so slow you won't even notice it until you see that the scenery has changed after 10 or 15 minutes
