How fast do FP+ times fill up once you can select them?

Those of you that recently made your FP+ selections, how fast did the headliners (scheduled at a decent time...afternoon/evening) fill up... hours, days, weeks after you were able to schedule?

My tickets look like they won't arrive until about 3 or 4 days after my FP+ selection window opens...will I still have a chance to get some decent times for headlines? I am really stressing me out!! I am a planner, hands down, drives my husband crazy...but this choosing which rides at what time 60 days in advance has put me (a planner) over the edge!!

Thanks tons!!

You should be fine! My 60 day mark was over a month ago and I am still able to make changes and get what I want. I would guess the only exception might be Anna & Elsa.

That info changes all the time (and will be much more changeable as Disney adjusts which guests can get them and when.)

It will also be severely affected by the dates of your trip and the number of guests who learn about FP+ procedures.

Between the 60 to 30 day period you shouldn't have any problems. Nobody really knows how many people are going to schedule FP+ in the 30 day window. :confused3

I did not get my tickets till a week before my trip (almost went crazy waiting for them) and still got all the FP+ reservations I wanted at the times I wanted. Of course, I did this right before offsite guests were able to book FP+ in advance. Not sure how that will affect things.

I'd venture to say that whatever answer you get today won't be accurate a few months from now. Many people don't know yet to preschedule, but more will over time.

It also depends on the attraction. The A/E meet and greet already books up 60 days out. The Dwarf Coaster is likely to do so when it comes online. TSMM will go fast, but nothing like the other 2.

A lot has changed since the last time I went to Disney. Are they mailing out the tickets 60 days out now? I'm understanding that you can't book your fp+ reservations until 60 days out and you can't until you link your tickets to MDE but I always got my tickets (key to the world card) upon check in at my hotel so how are people linking their tickets in advance?

1. Not automatically. (But, you can ORDER tickets that far in advance, if you want.)

2. If you book a WDW Resort Pkg. over 60 days in advance, your tickets WILL BE CONNECTED
to your MDE account even though you don't physically have them in advance.

So Toy Story goes really fast? I'm going first week of June and waiting for tickets in the mail. I'm stressed too!

So Disney automatically connects them themselves?

They don't go that fast for TSMM. This past Friday I was able to book ones around noon for the next day. The busier seasons will be a bit more tricky, but not impossible for pre-booking. Anna and Elsa and the Mine Train are going to be the near impossible FP+ to get.

But this is where the lack of transparency leaves us all in the dark. You have no way of knowing if TSMM was completely booked solid the day before you got your FP, and your FP was one thrown back into the system through cancellation, or whether TSMM had a full assortment of available options because the slots "didn't go that fast". And we will probably never know. A party of two getting a FP at the last minute offers no solace to the family of 6 that cannot find anything useful. It is likely that there will always be people posting here that they "couldn't get a FP for their family 20 days in advance!" and people posting that "FP+ is great. I was able to get TSMM at the last minute. :thumbsup2" Both posters are being honest about their experiences, but neither poster is providing any great insight into what they system is providing in a broad sense.

That lack of transparency is what frustrates me most about this system. There seems to be a lot of "tricks" involved to get what you want. (knowing when parade Fps are released, knowing to book A/E for one party member then copying it over to others, knowing to change the time of your FP before changing what it's for to get different options) While that all benefits me because I know where to find the inside information, it's just nutty. And I like for things to make sense. Who knows now when you log on and find that you can't get what you're looking for if there's some "secret handshake" you are forgetting to use. Or if it's yet another glitch. Or if you really are just out of luck.

As an AP holder I see TSM available for next week.

I think people stress the FP needlessly.

Reading these boards before my trip had me stressed tight. But I found nothing that should have caused all that stress.

BUt who knows what could happens 30 days from now

There must be some issues going on with scheduling fastpass for anna and elsa. I had one scheduled as of my first open date to schedule fastpass on April 1st for May 31st trip. This past week two of our fastpass for anna and elsa disappeared. I called tech support at disney and they confirmed there is no availability left for that day (June 4th). I told tech support I have a screen shot on my phone that confirmed all four of my party having the fastpass. He suggested showing that to the ride operator when we go on our trip and hope that they allow it. Makes me nervous because this is the one fastpass I really needed to get. Otherwise I have no other problems with getting the fast passes we wanted.

You're absolutely right. I really hadn't looked at it that way. I am by no means a FP+ fan. As an AP (and someone who only needs to book FP+ for 2 people since our daughter is only 2) I do find difficulty with the flexibility and availabilty of FP+ for certain things and it has completely removed the spontaneity of how we used to frequent the parks.

This past Saturday we had a FP+ for Barnstormer for 10am (my daughter's first time to ride it) when we got there it was a walk on, so we ditched our FP and tried (on my husband's iPhone to find a new FP. We couldn't get one for either Cinderella, Ariel or Rapunzel before 8pm that night. And this was at 10am for a party of 2!!) The app then locked up and I ended up going to a kiosk. And then got the run around because I had my Magic Band but our MDE is under my husband's name so they needed his MB (?!?!?!) and I told them I will take ANYTHING FP+ wise for a time around now and the next hour. Anything a 2 year old can do and the guy said "Well, I can't search by times so just keep naming attractions" and one by one I was told times like 7pm, 5pm, 10pm. No joke. :(

That is likely to be true with all the changes time frames may change, but I am suppose to book my FP+ on Sunday (tickets won't arrive likely till tuesday, maybe Wednesday)...so that is why I was interested in what people have found most recently.

Wow. :( The only thing worse than trying to work this system is trying to work it for the benefit of a two year old. If they do not currently have the capability of searching by time, they need to program that, because "What do you have availble between 1:00-2:00?" is going to be a more common question than ""Is attraction X available between 1:00-2:00", especially when people start to try to book the 4th FP. The ADRs can be searched by time. It makes sense for them to get that up and running for FP+ as well.

So true. There does seem to be a lot of tricks you need to know in order to get the most out of this system. It really is a huge disadvantage to people who are new to disney and don't even know what a fp is.

Wow. I guess its now safe to say that Disney has a technical problem on top of what is already complete madness. I would be so mad if this happened to me. From what I understand, this is a very difficult fp to obtain. I really hope they let you use the screen shot. If other people are dealing with similar issues, disney is going to have a big problem in their hands.
