I've been reading some posts on this board that are not only fascinating, but are really long.
I'm lucky that I can type about 100 words a minute, but am curious how many two fingered typists there are out there.
Does your typing speed dictate the length of your posts?
Just curious.

For me the answer is no. Last time I timed myself I was around 110-120.

I don't think my speed affects how long my post is...but I suppose if I had to hunt and peck they may be shorter sometimes. I've been typing for 35 years, so I go pretty fast, but I haven't been timed in a looooooong time.

I type about 60-65 words per minute. I don't really think it dictates the length of my posts.

Not fast at all.

I'm not a very fast typer......probably why I don't chat.:o :D

I type about 30-40 wpm, not bad for someone who didn't use it for almost 20yrs. It doesn' effect the length of my posts, now if I "pecked" away, it might.

I was tested years ago at 90wpm but that has nothing to do with how long or short my posts are. I'm just done when I'm done! ;)

How do you test your speed?

230 wpm...but I use a steno keyboard for that. Using a QWERTY, it's about 110. I can even type one-handed pretty fast, fast for one hand, at about 40wpm.

Don't quite now how fast I can type now, but I used to have a speed of 55wpm. My speed has nothing to do with the length of my posts............it's the brain that does that:teeth:

I only type about 65 wpm, well...last time I tested in school. The length of my posts aren't determined by my typing speed, though. I just talk a lot ;)

I can type pretty fast and I teach typing to jr high kids. My typing is impeeded by my spelling. I have a hard time spelling when I compose at the keyboard. I type much faster when I have copy in front of me.

I haven't been tested in years, but it was around 85wpm then. My typing speed has no bearing on the length of the post.

I have no idea, but I am fairly fast as a two finger typer

Do they still have typing speed tests? Has anyone under 40 ever taken one?

I learned the keyboard at a very young age. My dad had been a radioman in WWII and taught me. I don't remember ever not knowing the keyboard, but I never took typing.

When I was in college I only took courses like math and chemistry if I had a choice so I would not have to write papers. That was in the dark ages before PCs.

I worked with computers forever so always had to type, but I was never very good with accuracy althrough I am fairly fast. I've never had a typing test so I don't know my rated speed.

I have learned to love writing on the computer with the abiity to edit, correct and rearrange. I tried to write a one page document a few years ago on a plane with only pen and paper and found that I just couldn't do it! It was too hard.

I've been practicing away and I've made it up to 52 wpm w/ 98% accuracy! I'm proud of me!!:Pinkbounc

Tigercat here is a webpage that you can not only test your speed but you can download the program and continue to practice!
