Hi. We'll be staying at the HIFS/Nickelodeon Suites. Just wondering how far a drive (we're renting a car) it is to the mk parking area? I know they say on their site that they are only, I think a mile, from the entrance to WDW. But I think that MK is on the opposite side of the park from where we'll be.
Thanks,

Hey there!
The suites are on continental gateway, right off 536.
The entrance to WDW is 2 miles away and from there, the MK parking is 3 miles away.
I live down the street from the Nickelodeon Suites and it usually takes me about 5-10 minutes to get to the MK.
Have fun! :sunny:

It would probably take a normal person 10 minutes but we got lost every day so it took us 20. The signage all looks alike and my husband gets into a daze and oopss, there was our exit again.

We've stayed there several time and LOVED IT. HOWEVER, when are you going? We were supposed to go in March (1st week) and was concerned about the construction. I called and spoke with the General Manager. She said that they are not complete yet and are behind schedule (because of the hurricanes, all the construction workers had to leave their site to go help others). I asked her for her honest opinion and she point blank told me to "make other arrangments for my accommodations"; so that's what we are doing. I am going to miss that hotel this year.

Just to let ya'll know:
I just drove by it on the way to the post office and the new lobby isn't done yet- there's still construction out front although some of the spongebob and rugrats paintings are up around the pool area. There are tarps on some of the roofs of the rooms and still bulldozers (which have been there for months).
Hope this helps?
Melissa

What is the name of this hotel. I'm blanking out in HIFS!
Thanks!

Getting to WDW was a piece of cake from HIFS. We just turned left out of the parking lot, turned right and drove right to the front gate. Getting back was a little bit more of a challenge. The best advice that I received on this board concerning that was to following the "airplane" signs. They lead you right back to HIFS. I was extrememly happy with our location.

Follow the airplane signs...does that mean the airport signs? We've stayed there a number of times and have to admit that getting to the parks was always a breeze, but coming home was almost always a nightmare....until the last time, finally it clicked and I don't think we ever got lost, but I'm not sure our luck will hold out again this year, so I'll remember the airplane sign thing.. Thanks!

Yes...I'm pretty sure that's what they are. I just remember the person who gave that advice just called them "airplane" signs, lol.

What a good idea!
airplane signs! I never thought of that!
I'll have to share that with my friends coming in town- I'm sure it will help them.
I usually tell friends to be on the lookout for signs that lead to 417(airport signs) or 536. ( The HIFS is off 536) since MK is on the opposite side from the 536 entrance to WDW, it is a bit difficult to find the way back.
Thanks for the idea! :sunny:
