how far is Davenport?

I am looking for a hotel for a one night stay before our reservation on property. Trying to find something reasonable (maybe under or around 75). Seems to be several brand name hotels at good prices in the area of Davenport. How far is this from WDW? We will be going to the parks, back to hotel for night, then checking out in the morning to head back to WDW to check in to other hotel.

Is it far? Is traffic a huge problem?

Davenport is aout 20 miles away. To get to WDW you would take 27 to 192. Both of those roads can get congested. 27 because of regular rush hour traffic (rest of the time it's not bad), 192 because of tourist traffic. If you want to be at a park for rope drop I would give yourself an hour just to be on the safe side (Better to be early than late ).

My parents lived in Davenport and would make this drive often. As long as you are patient it's not bad.

There are tons of decent hotels that are much, much closer to WDW than Davenport. Most, if not all, the hotels on Palm Pkwy are inexpensive and clean...it would take under 10 minutes to drive to a park from there.

Depends where in Davenport. I live in Davenport and am 8 miles from Disney property, in the four corners area. But I wouldn't stay in Davenport right now. 192 is under construction and it's a mess trying to get anywhere at certain times of day.

If you are looking at one of the hotels right off I-4 at exit 55 then you can just jump on the hwy and be at the Disney exits within minutes. Disney exits start at 62.

agree - even in traffic - you can take 429 (toll road) - you don't have to but it can be a little quicker. you don't have to get on US192 at all - if you get a hotel (which many are) at exit 55 I4.

I think Comfort Inn in Davenport is the best hotel deal in the whole
Disney area. Check it out. It is a little hard to get to as you need a Uturn off 27 but it is absolutely clean and the staff is great. No better deal for the price.
Google Comfort Inn Davenport Florida. Right off I-4 on Highway 27...I-4 east to Disney entrance in 5-6 minutes.
