We have stayed at the cabins twice and lived them. We were hoping to try a campsite for December but nothing is available. How long ahead do you usually need to reserve one? Sorry if this has been answered a million times but I'm in unknown territory with the camping board. Thanks

Closer to x mass the quicker you need to book. All holdidays at the fort sell put quickly. And with the 50th this year coupled with covid its probably worse.

October around Halloween 499 days out. Around Thanksgiving until New Year, same thing 499. Or one may get lucky and get a last minute cancellation.

Yes book at least a year out. Weekends fill up quickly for the short-term visitors which often leaves the weekdays available but Friday and Saturday nights tough to get.

The month of December in the first 3 weeks has seen some significant price increases this past year to take advantage of the increased demand for that time frame. Each week is successively more expensive than the prior one until we get to Xmas-NY which is the most expensive time of the year of course.

Other wise as we tell others, keep trying for cancellations.

Thanks everyone. We have our reservation at Dolphin but dh would really like to stay at the Fort. Maybe we'll change and go back to the cabins.

A few years ago I was able to piece together a reservation and I will tell you it wasn’t hard but it really takes dedication. I checked several times a day every day. You get really good at it and it becomes a challenge that you NEED to fulfill. After getting everything squared away, I wasn’t quite sure what to do with my life only kinda joking

Cancellations happen all the time. Keep checking and have your plans open to be able to change if one comes up. I am sure it will.
