can you use your points?

we're all booked for our 2009 points which we've "borrowed" from Sept. do we have to wait until sept 1 to "borrow" 2010 points or can i book with them now for stays that don't happen until after sept 1, 2009?

does that make sense?

you can book 11 months out at your home resort and 7 months out at another DVC resort.

UY month has nothing to do with when you can book. as long as you have points (banked, borrowed or current) that are valid during the dates of your stay, you can book your home resort at 11 months.

perfect. i knew about the 11 month but wasn't sure about borrowing so far in advance.

You aren't actually "borrowing". When you make a reservation for trips that occur within your September use year, you can use 2009 points and borrow 2010 points for any stay that occurs between September 1, 2009 and August 31, 2010. You can not borrow more points than you have in your 2010 use year though.

Point usage goes by the date of stay and reservations are made 11 or 7 months from the date of check in. That is the part that gets comfusing for people.

Any trip you have scheduled is using points from the appropriate use year. Most of us have trips planned from two use years at the same time. That is why when you go to the members only site, it will list your trips and point usage by use year.
