How far in advance?

The past 2 years we have driven to Disney in November and I have started my planning 8-9 months in advance (condo rental)...this year however, we are going to fly out of Buffalo...initially, I was going to book thru AirTran for 89.00/way but am now thinking I should hold off on any planning and wait for a Ding to come out for a November flight as there are 5 of us...I should be ok right? How far in advance do all of you plan?

I planned a last minute trip for next weekend about a month ago and got $150USD return.... I'd just watch for a great sale - it is still early yet for November! Look at other airports too - Rochester can sometimes have cheaper direct flights - we found Air tran had no direct flights when we wanted from Buffalo but had one every day at 8am from Rochester to Tampa. We would have rented a car to get to Disney anyway as my dh prefers to have one while we are down there!!

Hi, We are going Nov.1-10 2007 and I have everything booked. May8 was our 180 days so we booked all our dining and found $89 Air Tran out of Detriot. I thought booking the flight was early but I don't think we'll get non-stop flight much cheaper, I've heard you can get air tran for $69 but why risk it.

I posted this before in a SW thread but we are leaving on Thurs and only booked our airfare 2 weeks ago. We have never been shut out of the flight we wanted. I would wait, unless that is the US Thanksgiving weekend and then grab whatever seat you can.

Thanks for the responses...I am a huge planner so it is very hard for me to wait to plan till only a few months before we actually leave...I think I'll hold out for a DING for November...SW is only listed till the 2nd of November...does anyone know when they'll release later dates?
