my family and i just purchased new tt and was wondering how far in advance to book site at disney

As soon as you decide you are going. I booked my Dec 06 trip early last month. I'm still trying to add a few days, but the campground is already booked up for that time frame!

How far in advance depends on the times you want to go. As was said, if you want to go at peak times like Christmas, New Years, Spring Break, etc you will have to reserve well in advance. Off season is not so critical, but has been getting busier. We go off season every year and book our next trip right after returning from the previous one.

We arrive the day after Thanksgiving until the following Saturday ('06) and we made our reservations the first week in November '05.

We booked for President's Week 2007 a few weeks ago. I wish we'd had our camper sooner so we could have gone this year.

Last year it took a few weeks of trying to book for Columbus day weekend (started trying in June or July I think).

I booked my trip for the beginning of October a couple of weeks ago and was able to get what I wanted. I will book my dining plan restaurants as soon as I can. Since this is our first time, I am now working on which restaurants to choose. DH loves steak and ribs and I love Italian Food and fish.
