How far in advance do you really plan?

I have booked 11 months in advance.... 7 months in advance...... 3 months in advance and 37 days in advance.

For the 37 day trip, we did not get our first or second choice, but are still extemly happy and excited about our first stay at VWL! No disapointment on our part.

We usually book about 6 months in advance. So far there's never been a problem getting what we want. That said, if we know we really want something specific we book 11 mos out. We've been members since 1993 and have never had any issues with getting a room, although I must admit it used to be a bit easier in the earlier days.

We've already tentatively scheduled our trips until 2006, but that's because we keep taking our loved ones and the in-laws to WDW. Since we can't take everyone at once we have to plan out who the take with us next and for some of them, scrounging up the money to get there, eat and buy their trinkets can be a significant challenge and buying their park tickets can be a financial stretch for us as well.

On the other hand, we just planned a trip on 1.75 months notice (just us...and only us), sent friends to a 1BR at the BVW during early december on 2 months notice and added 2 nights at a studio at BWV during christmas week on 3 months notice.

So to answer the OP's question, yes, we plan, but we also do things at what is for us the last minute...like our wedding...6 weeks from engagement to being furious at my mother-in-law. :)
