How far in advance do you book?

We are hoping to take our second trip to Disney in August - Wondering if we should book now or wait and see if any good deals come out- what do you all do?

You will get answers for both sides but I book when I know my dates are set or close to set and then wait for discounts to be released. I have had my May and Sept reservations since May of 03.
I found it easier to change a room-only to a discount faster then doing a new reservation when discounts are released. Think of how many people are calling at the same time and if you take 2 minutes instead of 6 or 7 minutes that means two more people can get their discount too.
I like to think of everyone else too. I never call for PS dining at 7 am because everyone is calling for CRT and I want Chef Mickeys.

I called this weekend and book our Oct trip with AAA disc. If better codes come out, I'll add those, if not, at least I have the resort I want. Since mine is a room only, I can call 5 days out and cancel and get a full refund.

I already booked our October trip using a AAA discount. Is an AP rates comes out GREAT! otherwise, we will just get the AAA rate. I thikn it depends on how flexible you can be with where you want to stay. If you book later you may be able to get a good rate, but not always your first choice of hotel.

We booked with Sue Ellen at DU with AAA discount one year prior to our trip this coming October.
