I have at least 2 free flights with USAir, possibly 3, but I don't know what they consider off peak. We're planning our trip for June 21-30, 2002.

Do you know how early I can book these free flights?

it has always been 340 days out. used to be 330 then they changed it then they changed it again......:p

For AA and UA also? I've been counting on the 330/331 days for next June's tickets but if 340, then I need to call on July 1.

Watch the online timetables. When your dates come up you can call. I have FF tickets for Las Vegas for the last week of September on USAir. I called the day the return trip came up on the timetable in early November last year and got the flights we wanted.

Beverly Lynn - Thanks again for all your help. You helped me with my Jan. trip and here you are to my rescue again. I can't thank you enough.

Is that 340 days from the initial flight or your return flights?

Debbie B - thank you also. What are the online timetables.

Also, does anyone know if June is considered Peak or off-peak.

Thanks again.

I would also like to know what the on-line timetables are and how to find them.

Timetables are the airline's list of scheduled flights. You put in your departure and arrival cities and the dates you want. It will then give you a list of flights, first non-stop or direct, then connecting. There is usually a link from the airlines home page. USAir's page is in the message above. This list is up-to-date and good to watch for schedule changes after you buy your ticket.

DebbieB - thank you for explaining the timetables. I just tried them and now I understand. If you put in a date that is not 330 days out, it will bounce back that the dates are invalid.

It appears that I have to wait until my return flights, and not my departure flights, are 330 days out otherwise it bounces back with an error.

Thanks again for all your help. It looks like August 5 is the day I'll be contacting USAir. I'm so psyched with the great time schedule they have, I really hope this works out for me.

Now the only other hurdle is my 3rd free flight is through my credit card, and they won't let me book until 10 months prior, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed there are still available seats around August 21.

sorry I haven't gotten on any sooner. I am limited in my computer time until the eye dr tells me otherwise! its from both dates out. your outbound and your return. you can book the outbound and then they give you a pseudo flight for the return then tell you the day to call backa nd get the return flight to complete your ressie.
