How Far In Advance Can One Book Rooms?

We are planning our next trip during Spring Break 2008. I understand that 2008 rates and packages are published in July. Do you have to wait until then to book a room, or can you (should you) do so earlier?

I book as soon as I can. I booked YC for Feb. '08 back in Jan. I put deposit down, the rack rate, and hoping for a discount soon.

Room only can be booked 500 days from check out at a non confirmed rate. When the rates come out in June they will send you a new room rate. When the packages come out in August you can "switch" if you want but you are cancelling what you have and starting again. The reason you may want to do this is if you are set on a specific date and a unique room type. If you are looking for something very general like a standard room at POP, there is no need to go through all the extra work unless you feel better knowing it is started,.

Thank you all for the good info. I've decided to book AK-Conc for DDs 7th bday. And taking her on the Sunrise Safari for her birthday. I guess I need to get on the ph and make the ressie (April 08)

My question is, what do they charge you if the rates for 2008 are not yet released? 2007 rack rates I assume?

Yes, I was charged '07 rates for the YC in '08 and the CM was very specific that if the rates increased it will be added to the total.

as the OP stated, they will have you give the deposit at the current rate, your confirmation is also very clearly marked that the rate is subject to change with the new rate release
