How Far In Advance Are Rooms Assigned?

We will be checking in to the WL on Monday morning around 11am and I was wondering if there is a way to contact the room assigner to see if there can be a room ready for us when we arrive. I know that they don't have to have a room ready until 3pm, but we're travelling with a 2 year old and a 3 month old and are starting our day at 4:30am to get to the airport. I'm sure lots of travellers are in the same situation as I am, but I was just wondering if it's "ok" to ask and take the "let's see what happens" attitude.

Also, would they be able to tell me what room I'm in ahead of time? For some reason I don't think they would be....securtiy reasons and all.

Me and DH just retruned from the WL and when we checked in at 11am, our room was ready! They don't usually do anything about room assignments until the day of check in. My suggestion to you would be to call the WL directly the day before you arrive and explain your situation. I'm sure they will be able to help you. good luck and have fun!!!!

I've checked in at 8am both the Polynesian and Boardwalk and both times my room was ready.

If you don't have a lot of room requests I am sure they could get you a room at check in that was available.

Have a room pre-assigned is a good bet that it won't be ready when you check in.

If you're not incredibly picky about what room you get, just request an available room upon checking in, and the CM will see what is available. Keep in mind, that due to occupancy the night before, this may not always be possible.

Then I on the flip side came to the Poly last Dec at about 3 pm to check in, was told the room would be ready in half and hour and then 5pm, it was finally ready. We were more than annoyed that we were told a short amount of time so we hung around and it ended up being 2 hours! And it was a concierge room too. We would have gone off somewhere if we had known.

But if you question was about how many days in advance rooms are assigned, I think other answered best.
