How far from pier to Serenity Bay Beach

Our first Disney cruise is drawing ever closer - July 3 on the Wonder! I've gotten a lot of great ideas and advice from this forum - thanks a bunch! One question I thought of last night while packing my sunscreen and beach hat: When we get off the ship at Castaway Cay, can we walk to Serenity Bay Beach from there? We are pretty energetic and would love the exercise instead of waiting on a shuttle, if it isn't too far. Any ideas on mileage? Thanks!

Muscatine,

There are two different trams on the island. The first runs between the ship and the family area...and it's an easy walk. The second tram is located past the family area and it takes you to Serenity Bay. We've never tried walking that one, but I've seen some folks walking it and lots of folks biking the route. I'm not sure how far it is, but it would be a really HOT walk!!

DON'T WALK IT! My DH and I walk everywhere but it is about a 15-20 minute tram ride! Once there, you can pick up any rental equipment, you don't have to take it on the tram from the family beach like we did. Also, rest rooms and food are located there so you can stay there the whole day.

Besides, when we went in May it was WAY too hot to walk that far- it would be flat out dangerous! There is no shade along the way and the walk is a long black plane runway that soaks up sun like no other. HOT HOT HOT!

I never take the tram, I think it is a nice walk, but yes, it does get hot! I walk lots at home, and love being able to have a nice on land walk after being on the ship! Enjoy your cruise!!

I walked it. I had a hat and a water bottle though because there was absolutely no clouds that day.

I like to walk it from time to time. I'd say it's about a 20 minute walk. That is, from the second tram station to the adult beach. Probably a good half-hour if you walked all the way from the ship. Kind of nice in the morning, very hot in the afternoon. Very nice walk in the rain.

It's a short hike, about 2 miles I say.

Took me 40 minutes to walk it.

I agree to either take the tram to the adult beach. It's quicker to skip the first tram and walk, but the landing strip gets very hot.
