Hi, I am planing on going for easter 2008, however I have had to set a budget of around £3000( for hotel and flights) it will be 2 adults and 1 child and we would like to stay onsite? can this be done?
Is easter more expensive than august, as august is cost us just over £3300 which includes tickets?

we don't mind who we fly with and will not be renting a car.

Any advice.

The only real guidelines I can go off is Virgin who we book with, brochure prices for example for next year are £749 fly drive in Easter, and in August it depends when you go, early month is £839 later on from the 20th onwards it's £599.
Adult prices.

Generally speaking both expensive times to go due to holiday's etc

Depending on who you booked with last time though I don't see any reason why you shouldn't get a similar deal if you shop around.

We went last easter and paid :

£1250 for Flights with Virgin
£1200 for a room at POFQ for 14 nights
£400 for 2 week park passes.

That was for 2 Adults. So it could be possible!

Got a price from thomson - £3 715 for Port Orleans and £2671 for POP, seems quite expensive to me, will have to have a look around.

not yet however will do, along with First Choice and Airtours. :)

When I priced up 2 adults for next Easter, staying at Pop it was approx £2200 with Virgin. I would think you could get it a fair bit less than £3000. :goodvibes

Try jet save as well-they fly with virgin as well. Also try looking on expedia for rooms and booking the flights seperate.Only sometimes there may be a stop over with the flights which adds a fair bit onto travelling-ok for a couple but not so good with a toddler. As Johnnysharp said they are probably the most expensive times to go.
good luck anyway. We are staying in disney for the first time as we normally stay on lbv but with our wedding its a bit special.

I went in February and booked it all separately which meant that we went cheaper - flights with Virgin and booked AKL and GF with Disneyworld.co.uk direct. It was cheaper than going through a brochure :thumbsup2

Do you have Virgin Frequent flyer points?
We are going Easter 2007, 3 adults from Manchester
Flights £291.80 + 2,000 points each
Offsite hotel £329.95 (14 nights)
Total £1,205.35
We personally prefer offsite with a car so onsite will cost more.

no we dont have flying points, so far All Stars is coming in at about £2700, this is going a few days before the holidays with both Thomson and first choice. Its more than I would expect to pay for this resort. not all the TO have released there prices yet though. so I am hoping to get Allstars for about £2500

Hi Wideyes,
I'd set yourself a 'yardstick' price.. then keep your eyes open.. keep looking at all the potential sites.. and when you see a bargin.. grab whilst you can.
Try doing an independant package yourself.. try sites like opodo and airline network for flights and/or hotels.
If you want to stay in a good hotel, but 'just' off site.. try LBV.. we stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott down palmparkway a couple of years ago.. got 8 nights for lovely room with balcony for £200 (booked with airline network).
LBV is right next to DTD.. very nice area.
Good luck!!
Tracy

LBV seems like a good option and good value, I guess we could considor off site. What are the transport options like, In the First Choice brochure it says it is free.

You are way too early booking now for Easter 2008.
I have just costed Easter 2007 for you with no discounts no effort looking.
Saturday Virgin flights 2ad + 1ch £1,478.90 (Direct with Virgin)
All stars £952 (British Airways website)
Total £2430.90
You would also gain 8,448 flying points per adult for future discounts.
With a little effort and booking thru a cashback website I would expect to shave a little of this also.
This is booking only 5 months from departure, which I consider peak pricing.
Booking at the right times I would expect you to pay between £2000-£2,200 for Easter 2008.

Have to agree with castanea1985 about Courtyard. We stayed there for 25 nights in August booked thru BA holidays £26/night. Much preferred it to Allstars. even free wireless network inroom. Great hotel.
Can't comment on the transport as I would not contemplate Orlando without car. Way too much to see away from Disney.

Have you looked at doing the flights and hotel separately? On Disney's website the All Star Movies is coming out at £1,640.00 for 14 nights inc the Ultimate ticket, accommodation only is £1,120.00. That is based on April 07. You can get good deals through companies like expedia. We have found it cheaper at times to do it this way.

I have had a look on Virgin's website and for April 07 the total cost for flights and accommodation at the All star is £2362.15 for 14 nights. That includes an online discount of £144.85

I would definately wait and search for the best deals as there are some out there. Good luck

I don't drive so car is not an option, which is why I was looking on site however if there is a big difference on price I would consdor a nice offsite hotel.

we have just booked last wk with first choice through virgin holidays for 21 nights holiday in orlando, we will stay at pop century for the first 5 nights, and animal kingdom lodge for 5 nights then onto the nickelodian hotel for 6 nights and then on to the hard rock hotel universal studios theme park we have also all the ultimate disney theme park tickets and 5 park flexitickets and the pirate adventure dinner show tickets and a car for 6 nights while at nickelodian because the lateness of the booking and being over easter we are paying peak season prices of course this is for 2 adults and 1 14 yr old
