How far ahead should we book everything?

We are planning on an 8 day trip to WDW in Oct. We are not sure where we want to stay yet, probably either the Beach Club or Wilderness Lodge (may look at some moderates as well). Assuming we ever figure that out, how far in advance should we book everything? If we book now, and then a deal comes out for my Disney Visa or something, are we able to get the better deal?

Also, last time we went we used Small World Vacations to set it up. Is it best to go through an agent like that, in case a better deal comes along? Or is it just as easy to do it yourself?

Thanks,
Andy

Usually companies like Small World Vacations and Dreams Unlimited will keep an eye on the prices for you, and I would feel confident that they will do that (you might want to double check). Another great thing they will do for you is make PS and this can be a savings in time and long distance.

I got an email re: specials for 8 night stays....but we own DVC, so I'm not sure how many specials we will be taking advantage of right now.

You could always double check as time passes on your own, and see if you can get a better deal. Please just be sure you understand the cancellation policy, with packages and through outside travel agents it is likely to be more restrictive.

By all means I would book now...you can always change plans later if needed.
